Oh shut the fuck up
Pence is lying. Their admin refused testing info.
Jesus hates liars, Mike.
"Mr Vice President, I am speaking"
Oh, shut the fuck up, again, Mike.
Kamala is owning this so far. I love it so much. She is slaying him with those looks.
I'm feeling some electricity. Anyone else feel the same?
I'm sorry, I've been waiting for this dopamine rush for years. Seeing a black woman kick this man's ass is bringing me feelings I didn't think were possible.
GODDAMMIT the way she demands her time.
I'm watching w/ a white man (Democrat) who just said, "This is amazing. He seems like a pathetic tiny white boy and she looks awesome"
Holy shit, I can't even comment on the content. The high I have right now from seeing a black woman kick this lying idiot's ass is just too intense.
I'm sorry, but you'd have to be racist and/or misogynistic to find Pence compelling here.

He sounds like someone just gave a stiff twig the ability to speak.
Mike Pence likes to shake his head during truth.

Is he going to shake his head about the 210K people who are now dead?
Mike Pence pivoting to Solmeini, a man most Americans have never heard of 😂
I'm sorry, but answering non-sensical questions from 8th graders about how people are arguing all the time is stupid.

When I was in 8th grade, I was like, "I established republicans hate poor people 4 years ago."
I mean questions from 8th graders are a stupid waste of time for a debate. But most 8th graders are past "I'm sad people argue"

I don't know why some on the left have decided that the best means thru which to achieve their goals involve being a jerk on the internet. It's such a counterproductive method that it makes me think those who engage in it are more excited about the means than the goal.
I typically think people should try to align their methodological approach w/ their ideological aim. So, if your ideological aim is to advance compassionate causes, you'll be more successful in doing so when you act like you are, in fact, a compassionate person.
I don't always agree w/ AOC's approach to politics, but I think progressives would do well to listen to her comments about creating an inclusionary space where people feel safe.

Lots of people think progressivism is scary. Why engage in tactics that support that view?

At least one of the conspirators posted to facebook about COVID restrictions.

“Fox referred to Governor Whitmer as ‘this tyrant b----,’ and stated, ‘I don’t know, boys, we gotta do something'"
I wonder why this could possibly be. Not like any political leaders explicitly targeted Whitmer in their anti-lockdown rhetoric. Image
Seriously, though, I am furious. We don't know all the details at this point, but it's not wrong to speculate these people were partly inspired by Trump & anti-lockdown rhetoric more broadly. & it's entirely correct to speculate he specifically targeted Whitmer b/c she is a woman

The doctor will not give the time/day of the positive diagnosis. He only gives the time of the "repeated test." Further, he will not give the time of the last negative test. This means, at the very least, they are being cagey about the timeline.
We don't know the exact timeline b/c the doctors said "72" hours & the WH corrected that to "3 days." I do not, of course, trust the WH, but these conflicting statements means it's hard to pin down the timeline.

We *do* know they are being evasive about it.
They are also being evasive about whether Trump has been on oxygen. If he hadn't been, I'm pretty sure they would have told us. These answers read very much to me like he was on oxygen at some point.

I think they've been aware of this for a while. Probably since well into Obama's presidency. What's changed is that they've gotten to the point in the Prisoner's Dilemma where they've estimated the other side has defected so many times that it makes no sense to stay in the game
I've said this before, but Democrats are in a *particular* dilemma b/c they have two goals: 1. advancing their agenda & 2. upholding democracy. The dilemma arises given the other side can only 1. advance their agenda thru 2. *undermining* democracy.
So I don't see this situation as being one where Democrats are especially naïve as to GOP goals/strategies. I see it more that they were battling on two aforementioned fronts. And were conservative w/r/t the second (upholding democracy)

I have developed a genuine affection for Joe Biden during this election that differs from my affection for him during his vice presidency. It's also different from stanship or agreeing w/ him all the time. I'm noting this now b/c I think a lot of Democrats feel similarly.
Of course I recognize this makes me biased & I try to be aware of that. But I don't think I've ever felt this particular way towards a politician. Not that I haven't had affection before. Just, not in this way. Like it really feels like an "Uncle Joe" thing.
Biden just seems so thoughtful. Empathetic. And, at times, vulnerable. It seems like he truly cares about people. I am sure I appreciated these qualities in people before, but maybe part of it is that they are particularly highlighted by the monstrosity that is Trump.

Interestingly, though, white voters said Biden seemed "more presidential" by 46-40. I think some of the "winning" numbers could have been influenced by the point in time they were taken. Image
For example, I thought Trump was "winning" *during* the debate b/c I was 1. terrified & 2. looking at too much online commentary. My perception shifted immediately afterwards. I remark on this b/c many have noted a similar trajectory.
I can't remember ever having such a clear shift in perception that I shared w/ so many like-minded people in real time. It's kind of an interesting phenomenon. @joanwalsh makes several points about it here.
