Hello all, #NationFirst would like to share a specific case of Mr. Peter C. He had suffered a stroke and was admitted to a private hospital at Malad, his son who works in a private organization had a mediclaim which covered his father for 1.5 lacs. (1/n)
The whole amount was exhausted for his observation during hospital admission and angiography. The patient had 2 blockages and was suggested Open Heart Surgery (Bypass). The family had no savings to get this done. They called Nation First for help. (2/n)
We took his angiography reports and first obtained 2nd opinion from another Doctor which confirmed that angioplasty is also possible. After securing his admission at LifeLine, Mira Rd our team took discharge from earlier hospital. All approvals for angioplasty was obtained. (3/n)
After learning from the patient family that he is diabetic we put a specific request for medicated stents. The hospital initially refused and said that medicated stent is not within the purview of the scheme and that the patient will have to pay extra charges, (4/n)
Our team argued hard and got the hospital confirmation message from MJPJAY team that both medicated and non medicated stents are part of the scheme. On 5th Oct the patient was operated and implanted medicated stent on 1 blockage, 2nd blockage shall be operated after a month (5/n)
Today the patient has been discharged and he is back to his home. His family has conveyed blessings to the team
