Looking forward to learning more, as I wonder if something similar was happening with Amy Acton. There were armed men at her home and threats to her life. The woman appointed right after her stepped down before she even assumed her duties.

I think it's also worth noting that there was a coordinated effort via bots, trolls, and influencers to hinder her efforts to save lives. Whether they were part of this plot or not, I obviously can't know, but it certainly didn't help calm anything down.
