Glad to be a part of #TheProductSummit2020. Kudos to the organising team for pulling this through and surprised to see so many folks over the weekend! Short thread below 🧵
My biggest learning was in the “How to find Product Market “ session and the key takeaway being, it’s like society saying life is chill after 10th grade! 😁, when in reality the challenge just begins. That’s how, one should consider the journey to PMF #TheProductSummit2020 /2
Loved the insights shared by @kumarharsha2212 from @lightspeedvp on her journey at @zynga on how every feature was measurable and the revenue from each can be calculated at any given point in time #TheProductSummit2020 /3
In all of the sessions, I could see people posting their LinkedIn URL’s and asking to connect. There is a need out there for a dedicated forum/group for all these product enthusiasts to come in and make meaningful connections.. /4 #TheProductSummit2020
Request @MotwaniSuhas @parthbatraa & the awesome folks at @TheProductfolks to ensure the TPS slack group is visible to all, so that the conversation can continue to happen even after the Summit gets over! 🙂 Thank you folks from @Inc42 for having this! :) #TheProductSummit2020
Day 2 has been nothing short of engaging and the overall sentiment for me, it surpassed the already high bar set on Day 1! 😎 A collection of my thoughts below.. 🧵 #TheProductSummit2020
The day kicked off with @riteshagar It was so inspiring to hear directly from someone, who has been there, done that at such a young age! My biggest takeaway : It’s good to go deep on a narrow segment than go wide on multiple segments. Be a big fish in a small market 🔥 💥💫
The next session, How to design outstanding user experience for Bharat, which @RuthlessUx killed it as a moderator, gave out multiple insights from folks @Flipkart,@BYJUS and @karthi2209. Key takeaway here : Learn from your Customers, co-create and keep on iterating your product
The next session, was one from @Amplitude, where legend @johncutlefish and Rachel spoke about Analytics from a Product Management space, how Digital adoption has taken place, how there is a mesh between the physical and digital worlds to quote a few topics #TheProductSummit2020🔥
Another session I enjoyed was one from @srudeee, where we learnt how to design innovative experiences. Case in point : A streaming app! Key takeaway for me was, no matter the number of individuals, have the framework tested before it goes out live! 💯 and always do your research!
A session that sparked energy throughout was one from @drriteshmalik. It revved up the audience like no other. Key takeaway : If you’re not passionate about the work you’re doing, problem you’re solving, you’ll quit!
A session on managing your PM career by @sheshadriv shed light on the roles in the industry, the jargon used & what they meant. Key takeaway : Focus on the Problem space if you’re a Product Owner/PM & then jump to the solution space and cool such nuggets #TheProductSummit2020
Saving the best for last, would be the kick ass session by @satyan & @vardhanvaibhav. How a large media empire thinks about digital, choices it makes, to provide the resources, step aside, trust the team and so on. It doesn’t make sense to sell loans in the @gaana app was 🔥
Overall, incredible effort from the organising team @TheProductfolks @Inc42 Folks whom I could recall (sorry if I missed anyone) @MotwaniSuhas @parthbatraa @adityamohanty_ @TweetJanani etc., and many wonderful souls who made this happen and made the weekend, one of great learning
Hope the discussion and community continues long after the #TheProductSummit2020 is over. For folks, who are looking for a Master set of notes for the sessions at the Summit, here’s one by Tejas notion.so/fc00dec6730b44…
Also, another master set by the meme guru @yenceesanjeev who has diligently captured the insights from various sessions, saasgeneralist.com/post/the-produ…. Thank you all folks who participated for a wonderful Summit #TheProductSummit2020 💯 🔥💥✌🏻🎉
