LOL, Demgaz. Your argument is seriously: Why vote for the brilliant young woman who has been showing up+doing the work for years when you could vote for a rich old Heights guy who has done nothing but still thinks a seat on the LRSD board is his birthright? #lrpx#lrsd#lol
Stuart Mackey is very nice. He coached my son’s soccer team. I will vote for him for soccer coach forever. But when your qualifications for school board are that your dad and granddad were on it, and you have been appointed to boards before (?) then I’m going to call it out.
I don’t mean to be ugly, I really don’t. But it’s well past time for this city to stop automatically handing the reins to old white men when young women and people of color are a thousand times more knowledgeable, qualified and engaged. It is what it is.
Ali Noland’s granddaddy wasn’t on the LRSD school board, you’ve got her there? But she has been a VIPS tutor inside LRSD schools for years. Ali Noland led the successful effort to ensure all kids in AR get enough recess to boost health and academic performance. #lrsd#lrpx
Ali Noland formed a coalition of people that spanned interstates, income groups, color and politics to fight against the state’s disastrous control of LRSD that could have torn our district apart. #lrsd#lrpx
Ali Noland shows up for the all interminable community advisory and state board meetings that nobody else goes to. Why? Because someone has to keep an eye out for our kids’ interests. Ali shows up to do that, every single time.
The Demgaz didn’t interview Ali Noland before endorsing her opponent. And that’s telling. But she’s been so busy w/ teacher💚honk&waves, informational zoom events on COVID and general fireball advocacy for LRSD that she didn’t have time to waste with the old boys club, anyway.
