Happy #ComingOutDay!! My coming out story was more complicated than it had to be. I came out to my family after I started dating my now wife. It was rough and scary. Lots of tears. I hid behind the lesbian label after asking my wife to marry me because I was afraid.
I didn't want to have to explain to my religious friends and family why I didn't 'choose' to be with a man and I regret that deeply. I officially came out to my wife as bi and I feel complete and comfortable in my skin. I love my wife so much! She is my rock and the love of my
life. And if I had to 'choose' again. I would choose her over and over again!
No matter what your story is remember that you are valid, you are loved, you are important.

And for those of you who are not out yet, do NOT let anyone pressure you or make you feel guilty about not coming out. Please take your time. Please protect your heart and mind. Only come out when you're ready and only come out if you feel it necessary.
In my opinion (and after a bit of self reflection), coming out is not automatically necessary. If straight people don't find it necessary to come out, why is it necessary for us? Live how you need to live. Love who you need to love. No one can dictate what is right for YOU.
