bronchopulmonary diseases that may be caught or aggravated by wearing a mask include pulmonary fibrosis, asthma, alveolitis, chronic bronchitis, bronchiectasis, fibrosis, spontaneous pneumothorax & chronic pneumonia

2) Pulmonary fibrosis among the worst diseases that can be suffered or witnessed. It kills slowly, by ever-thickening matrix formation, a kind of scar tissue, obstructing the alveoli and reducing their air exchange, suffocating the victim gradually.

3) There is no effective medical treatment: the only remedy is diligent prevention of small and microscopic inhaled foreign bodie. Inhaled particles, particularly nanoparticles, can begin the process of pulmonary fibrosis by forming free radicals such as superoxide anions.

4) Airborne inhaled nano-size particles are especially dangerous for the lungs, small enough to undergo transcytosis across epithelial and endothelial cells to enter blood and lymph, reaching cardiovascular system, spleen, bone marrow, axons & dendrites of central nervous system

5) nose & mouth are gateways to lungs for land vertebrates. no known history of a species voluntarily or involuntarily obstructing or filtering orifices to airways and lungs. We have no biological history of such a species or how they would survive such a novel practice.

7) OSHA has determined optimal range of oxygen in the air for humans is between 19.5 and 23.5%; OSHA formerly required any human-occupied airspace where oxygen measured less than 19.5% to be labelled “not safe for workers.” oxygen inside a masked airspace generally measures 17.4%

8) Inhaled cotton fibers cause subpleural ground glass opacities at surface of visceral pleura, & centrilobular and peribronchovascular interstitial thickening, & fibrous thickening of peribronchiolar interstitium.

9) textile workers exposed to organic dusts from textiles in workplace catch reversible & irreversible pulmonary conditions, such as byssinosis, asthma & COPD. unmasked textile workers would not have such high inspiratory flow as masked individuals.

10) Microplastics are ingested by wearing disposable surgical face masks; they are made of synthetic fibers, including polymers such as polypropylene, polyurethane, polyacrylonitrile, polystyrene, polycarbonate, polyethylene or polyester.

11)Cellular proliferation made up of histiocytes & fibroblasts found in lungs of those exposed to synthetic fibers in ambient air; focal lesions in lungs show granulomas & collagen fibers containing fine dust & long fibers. Illness from exposure can proceed to pulmonary fibrosis.

12) Speaking while wearing masks resulted in a significantly higher bioburden cultured from the face side of a mask.
