I just discovered that the guy who exposed the brand manager of @TanishqJewelry to massive trolling, hatred and threats, forcing the withdrawal of the Hindu-Muslim harmony advertisement is followed by our Prime Minister.
.@TataCompanies, of which Tanishq is a subsidiary, made the single largest donation to the BJP (55.5% per cent of Rs 800 crore) before the last Lok Sabha elections. thewire.in/political-econ…
It is quite possible that many RW trolls (IT cell guys?), who pounced on Tata & its employee, at some point gained from the donation, in some way or the other. Some employee freedom they have boss! They do not even spare their biggest investor. Any other job with that luxury?
I have no sympathy for Tatas, AT ALL. It got the hate it funded, nurtured; a dose of its own medicine. I only regret once respecting the brand. Once a "nation-builder" to a fledgling India, Tatas has turned out to be just another opportunist. scroll.in/latest/973294/…
I only feel terribly sorry for the brand manager who commissioned and the creators who made this advertisement. In this political climate, they tried in their own way to spread love, to uphold India's idea of pluralism. They failed.
The creators of @TanishqJewelry's absolutely beautiful advertisement failed--and let this sink in--because the hatred they were subjected to was enabled by none other than their own employer.
