CSC Commissioner Aileen Lizada says discussions on the possibility of online civil service exams are ongoing.
Civil Service Commission: We are targeting it next year, so ang ating inaayos ngayon ay yung discussions sa regional offices from October and December, and magkakaroon po tayo ng transition period.
Civil Service Commission says during the transition period, the CSC will coordinate with the IATF on crafting safety measures as it plans to shift to online exams.
Civil Service Commission: Meron po tayong computerized exams, iba parin po ito sa pen and paper tests. We have eight regions conducting these.
Civil Service Commission: We do not waive the eligibility sa ngayon kasi based sa batas, ang pumapasok sa gobyerno ay dapat based on merit and fitness.
Civil Service Commission clarifies that there are certain positions that do not require eligibility, including confidential staff.
Civil Service Commission: Meron din pong ibang position na because of the skills of the applicant, hindi na kailangang ng eligibility. If you graduated with Latin honors, if you're a barangay nutrition scholar, scientist, or kung 'yung skill po ay 'di makukuha based on the exam.
Civil Service Commission says the public may find the list of other eligibilities granted by CSC or under special laws in its website.
Civil Service Commission on appeal to bring back the 75% passing grade: We take note of that. We have conducted meetings on this, considering the clamor of the people.
Lizada on CSC exams requirements: Between now and December, ilalabas po natin kung ano yung mga kailangan because even the forms are being revised, considering we need to restructure the pen and paper test.
Lizada says it is certain the the CSC will shift to online exams, and that they are just studying the mechanics, measures to be taken.
Civil Service Commission: Baka there will be more than two (exams). We need to pilot first a smaller number, tignan muna natin kung ano yung results ng online tayo, rather than do it nationwide and baka may areas na kailangan pa ayusin.
Lizada says the CSC is also studying the possibility of allowing Filipinos living abroad to take online civil service exams.
