A thread was written by a CA student. Worth appreciable.
Sir/Ma'am,
On account of the COVID-19 pandemic, I would like to present the following suggestions for the November 2020 examinations:
1.The biggest issue students have is the exemption rule. As of now, if a student is answering 1 gr& he answers the first 3 papers but falls sick/has high temperature on the last paper & is thus stopped from answering the exam, he fails the entire group & even if he scores 60+
in the papers already answered by him, he doesn't get that exemption because of that1paper missed. So I suggest :
i) Students who score 60 & above in the papers answered should get the normal exemption for the next 3 attempts even if they miss a few papers due to illness.
ii) Students who score 40-59, their marks get carried forward till the next attempt only.
This will provide a big relief for the students as the majority of them are answering their exam for multiple attempts & they don't have to worry about another attempt being wasted.
Yes, I know that there is a huge chance that some students might take advantage of this, but this suggestion merely gives them an exemption/indirect opt out without compromising their attempt.
Students are taking a big risk & putting their lives at stake in answering the exams,
some of them are answering both groups, the least the Institute can do is provide them some relief by amending such rules. 2. Kindly look into increasing the number of examination centres as students feel that with the current number, it would be very difficult to maintain
social distancing at the centre before and after the exams. We witnessed how social distancing protocols were broken at certain centres at the NEET/JEE examinations as parents gathered outside in huge numbers. It is important for us to guard against any such repeat incidents here
and increasing the number of centres shall definitely go a long way towards achieving social distancing. 3. Kindly look into whether the examination can be conducted in the morning half as compared to the afternoon session. This is because the students have to wear their masks
for almost 4-5 hours & also can't remove them in between to even drink water to avoid the risk of getting infected. This will be very difficult in the afternoon heat & many masks will be useless due to the excessive heat & sweat.
Hopefully, you will consider these suggestions.
