What if its the church that's lost?
Who relentlessly pursues us?
The way that we have structured faith... Presupposes a certitude of our spiritual location..."they are lost" "we are found"
It's self-referential and that makes it dangerous
But we are witnessing behaviors from..."found" people that suggest a greater depth of spiritual misdirection than previously believed
Where is the spiritual calculus that reflects a greater maturity than the accumulation of material things
Or the compassion that says we are mindful and heartbroken at the collapse of the human condition
Or the self awareness to repent and turn when we have been exploitative and abusive?
The Christian that considers themselves found has supplanted Christ in salvation
To pursue Christ is to pursue an ethic that I may not be right... That I may need correction...
What if it's me?
