Some thoughts about this episode in a thread below - mostly trying to think about the kind of person Sian Massey-Ellis seems to be rather than anyone else.
One thing I admire about Sian Massey-Ellis is that she is not only good at her job but goes about it in a calm, understated way - the opposite of someone who wants to be centre of attention. She doesn't seem the type to want to make officiating about her or a wider point. 1/5
Absolutely not of her own making she finds herself in the middle of a lot of discussion, first with Keys/Gray and now with Aguero. She has never sought to do anything except a good job. It's not nice to be a public talking point especially as the subject of others' behaviour. 2/5
Not everyone who challenges perceptions wants to - or is required to - be in the middle of a circus. Sometimes people who make a big difference do it subtly, just by being there and being good at what they do. Like she is and does. 3/5
Like a lot of people I was uncomfortable watching Aguero put his hands on her neck in that way - not something I'd approve of irrespective of gender. The general "niceness" of Aguero is obviously irrelevant too in this instance. 4/5
Mostly I hope people who wade in and comment take a second before they speak or type. Thanks to someone else Sian Massey-Ellis now has a storm to ride. I hope she is able to get on with the excellent job she does without extra pressure or attention. 5 /5
