Very interesting thread by Jazz.

One of the theories I considered to explain why PapaD was sooo eager to setup a meeting between Trump and Putin was that PapaD was planted by the intel agency that was responsible for the emails releases. His job was to help frame the Russians.
I even constructed a timeline to help work out the theory.

One reason I liked the theory is it doesn't require PapaD to be in on it. He was simply told to setup a meeting between Trump and Putin. He didn't have to know about the theft of emails.

The perfect patsy.

I recently read The Faking of Russia-gate by Stephen Roh, the attorney and business partner of Joseph Mifsud.

Roh’s hypothesis is that Russia-gate is a phony scandal, concocted by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the DNC.

As it turns out, we now know Hillary Clinton did indeed approve a proposal to smear Donald Trump with allegations of Russian collusion.

So PapaD states in his book that he met Sergei and his friend at the Russia House in DC on the weekend of Trump's Inauguration (Jan 20-22).
PapaD claims Sergei told him that he just met with John McCain.
Buzzfeed published the Steele dossier on Jan 10th.

Paul Singer & The WFB have been spared a lot of scrutiny because a sizable number of liberals still believe the fairy tales in the dossier.

Thus, Dem politicians aren't going to raise the questions about GOP involvement in a dossier their base believes is reliable.
So Schiff didn't push the issue of the dossier's origin very hard. He allowed Goldfarb to get away with declining to answer a couple of times.

Contrast that with how he handle Eric Prince when Prince refused to answer questions posed to him.
When David Kramer's attorney objected to the request from a Republican congressman to name the sources for the dossier shown to him by Steele, Schiff took a different tone.
