You mean to tell me all this time there was a comedy crime drama about Eric Schweig running a casino in Southern Manitoba and I was completely unaware?
I guess it's just.... available on youtube youtube.com/playlist?list=…
They can't build the casino because there are protected wetlands, this is already the Most Manitoba Thing
Oh hey Glen Gould is one of the leads in this, he was the main character’s brother in Blackstone
Hahaha Blackstone and Cashing-In were running at the same and both cast Eric Schweig to play essentially the same type of Scheming Businessman Causing Problems On Purpose
The character from Toronto is telling the people in Manitoba that they have an inferiority complex in the presence of a person from Toronto, an accurate example of how people from Toronto talk to people from the rest of Canada.
I think the last handful of episodes of this show are out of order so I've completely lost track of what's going on. I've theoretically already seen how the show ends because I'm on the "last episode" but it feels like it chronologically fits in three episodes ago.

Various horror things I have watched that aren't "all about jumpscares" in no particular order, just scrolling back through my browsing history;
let's get some of the big obvious prestigious ones you probably already know about out of the way first:
Lovecraft Country:
Has it's issues but you know, they're trying and listening to feedback and learning. it's about what you expect in a luxuriously budgeted elritch HBO series
The Twilight Zone:
True to the spirit of the original, great variety and a diverse A-list cast of recognizable talent

If you want a great example of how references don’t really help unless you break them down to understand what you’re looking at and why things look the way they do, consider that the infamous Rob Liefeld Cap was pretty clearly directly reffed from pumping-iron-era Schwarzenegger
If you only care about making a literal reproduction of what you see instead of considering why it looks that way, you don’t understand why putting a front 3/4 view chest and side profile arms on the same body looks weird
This cover is also a great example of the importance of silhouette, bodybuilders like that pose because it emphasizes chest-to-waist ratio, if you cover the waist the viewer has a harder time extrapolating the body underneath and it turns into a confusing nugget of torso

In light of the Tuca and Bertie controversey, I think people outside the animation industry have this idea that there aren't a lot of women making shows because not enough women are pitching or believing in themselves or whatever and blaming "the patriarchy"-
So I just want to put out there that in my own, personal, anecdotal experience working in this industry for going on 12 years now, I have been told MULTIPLE times, in plain english, to my face, that I was not welcome or wanted on a project because I was a woman.
This was an actual experience I had on my first day working with a new showrunner (who I had seniority over, if that matters) on a show; He was running through how he wanted me to execute the layout, and one scene involved a joke about using the Force to give handjobs-

Galaxy brain theory: If the sonic in the final version of the movie looks different from what we've been shown in the trailer, it's a change they started making months ago when people reacted poorly to the poster and early "leaks" of the design.
And if that is the case, the trailer we saw was mostly a publicity stunt to make people buzz about it on every social media platform before they announced they'd be changing it.
Basically, here's why it seems fishy; If a studio like paramount wants to hire a VFX house, they put out a bid for the project. This is where most of the work deciding how ragged you're going to run your animators happen, with VFX houses underbidding each other for the contract.

Honestly the only reason it would make sense for this bar that barely even needs one bouncer to hire Kou would be if Volt just immediately figured out his whole “secret agent” thing, given he used to be like, head of security for the big cyberpunk company.
I think this comic page might make me the first person in internet fanart history to draw the guy who owns the bar in The Bouncer.
That opening cinematic is the only time the guy who employs the three main characters shows up in the game for even a fraction of a second. They show Volt's watch longer than they show the bartender.
