After Editor-in-chief @nitingokhale reported on @Twitter@TwitterIndia@TwitterSupport geolocating different places in Leh as being in China or J&K, Govt writes stern letter to CEO @jack Jack Dorsey conveying strong disapproval over misrepresentation of the map of India.
Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and IT @GoI_MeitY Ajay Sawhney in his letter reminded Twitter that Leh is the HQ of the Union Territory of Ladakh and Ladakh & Jammu and Kashmir are integral and inalienable parts of India governed by the Constitution of India @nitingokhale
Secretary IT has asked Twitter to respect the sensitivities of Indian citizens. He says any attempt by Twitter to disrespect sovereignty and integrity of India, which is also reflected by the maps, is totally unacceptable. The same is also unlawful. @nitingokhale
Giving a stern warning to Twitter, Secretary IT said such attempts not only brings disrepute to Twitter but also raise questions about its neutrality and fairness as an intermediary. @nitingokhale@BharatShaktiBSI@OfficeOfRSP@lg_ladakh@GoI_MeitY
