With 1 mil followers on Twitter, Piper knows his words influence, even as he writes he’s not trying to do that. If Piper posted this after the election, it might have been more effective, but....

.....to use Greek & Scripture reference to attempt to shame Trump supporters for wanting to vote for an arrogant man in comparison to voting for an open racist long term politician who approves of baby murder under the term “reproductive health”. This feels like pastoral abuse.

Biden has been in politics 7 years longer than Piper has been in ministry yet he’s just now realizing Biden doesn’t live up to Christian morality or ethics and now he’s trying to bow out of the voting process by appealing to Scripture for the sake of Biblical integrity? What? 🤔

So all the politicians Piper’s voted for up to this point have been God honoring politicians who lived up to Biblical standards? I’m sorry, but I don’t believe the sincerity of this article. When folks say they’re neutral but use non-neutral arguments, it’s called a lie.

But when pastors do it by appealing with Scripture, it’s not just a lie about neutrality, it’s deceptive false humility by weaponizing God’s Word to sway an opinion. And Piper should know better. desiringgod.org/articles/polic…
