Indira and her civilian advisers were no match to Bhutto and Co. and their guile. She had made a fatal mistake by not taking any military person to Shimla or adhering to military advice. As a result the nation is destined to suffer for eternity.

Main reason to write this post, is to tell you; another historical blunder done by Indira at Shimla. The background is as below:-

I was posted to Bhuj as Air force Base Commander in 1971 war. I think on 9th/10 th December Lt. Col. Bhawani Singh ( earstwhile Maharaja of Jaipur), arrived at Bhuj with !0 Para batt. which he was commanding. 👇👇👇👇
He had already fought fierce battle in Sindh sector and had captured 1/3 of Sindh province in Nagar parkar area. Really a big chunk of territory was annexed by his troops. He was later given a mission to capture Badin AF station of Pakistan. 👇👇👇👇
He crossed the border but had to return to Bhuj due to cease fire. Later he was awarded MVC. After the war ,one evening as we were enjoying tea at the mess, he revealed some thing which could have impacted 71 war history. 👇👇👇👇
He revealed that he had a conversation with Indira and advised her not to surrender the Sindh territory captured by him with great risk and sacrifice. He even told her that the captured part of Sindh should be termed as "AZAD SINDH", to checkmet the concept of AZAD KASHMIR.👇
He also added that , Sindhis are the only community without their own province and befittingly it should be given to them to settle.

But we can imagine the disappointment that great warrior must have felt on the outcome of Shimla agreement.
Shimla agreement was the greatest betrayal by Indira for which she deserves condemnation in the history. JAI HIND.
