Ok but when I think of “best” tv shows in my head, Nathan For You always lives there
Especially after watching both Borats. They both are what I’ll loosely refer to as “expose” comedy, where they play characters who get people to get on camera under pretense of varying degrees of falseness
But ultimately the character of Nathan is about helping people, which i think is part of the reason so many people unknowingly agree to be on it
And the trust built on a foundation of help leads to people exposing themselves, for better or worse. I think the Borat sequel leans towards this, and that’s why it works better imho
No one wants a man in a bikini screaming in their face, but people running a small business do want help, & that makes them more willing to play along with the crazy shit Nathan throws at them. And as much as the show is hilarious and bizarre, it often ends up being weirdly sweet

~*~*~* like a match you strike to in incinerate: a phantom of the opera fan fic*~*~*~*~
A/N: hi guys I don’t own phantom of the opera!! It belongs to ALW and France (where cheese comes from muahhahaha O_o ) anyway please R&R for the next chappy
the opera dormitories were quiet accept for the breath that christine daae didn’t know she was holding on her chest. That night she was wearing her black nightgown and thong because she was feeling sad
Raule had taken her on a date to a fancy restaurant where he bought chicken alfredo and wine but when they got to his carriage after, he tried to kiss Christine and when she said no, he opened a bottle of whiskey and took a long sip
I literally just got this flier after getting home from my walk. It’s an anti-choice PAC pretending to be a “both sides of abortion” group of that fucking LIES about the reality of late term abortion. I normally don’t do this, but I beg you to retweet that this is NONSENSE
This is a new fucking weird tactic that anti-choice groups do, where they pretend to care about women who get abortions in the first trimester and create this false narrative that even THOSE sinners would be opposed to late-term abortion
I had a pregnancy where I was told that there was a 60% chance my baby would die or not even have the most basic sense of life after she was born. She is a healthy toddler now.
So it's the 20th anniversary of my dad's passing today. I don't do much personal writing, but I sat down and punched this out and it would mean the world if you read it.
Halloween was dad’s favorite holiday by a mile, so it’s wild to me it was the day before that he was just like “mmmbye” 🎃 🤡
I don’t have many photos with him, and it makes me sad, but these are some of my favorite.
Him and I at a Girl Scout Father/Daughter dance, which we did every year. He was a big goofball on the dance floor who would get all the other kids acting wild, and I love that about him.
As someone who has been listening to a lot of Tchaikovsky lately, I love how Danny Elfman’s score to the 1989 Batman is just the Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty
This is a compliment btw
Also it’s wild watching productions that don’t use the Balanchine choreography, I’m watching a taping of a Russian State Ballet production and it’s like “that American shit can fuck right off”
