SHE WORKS OUT TOO MUCH:
She Works Out Too Much
A. At one point I was wanting to call the song “Imitation Love” #TimsTwitterListeningParty
B. The instrumental intro sections have a sample of famous producer Rob Schnapf’s dog Poppy barking on the beat. I mean, Poppy wasn’t barking on the beat, that was done in post. #TimsTwitterListeningParty
B. We rented a clavinet for a few days and this is the only track we used it on. It took an unbelievable amount of post-processing to get it to sound good. I will use clavinet samples wherever necessary from now on. #TimsTwitterListeningParty
A. Wanted this song to feel like walking into a pachinko parlor, really hectic and maniacal #TimsTwitterListeningParty
B. We’d rented a few other vintage synths to get ourselves out of a creative rut. I’d never used a Jupiter 8 before. Actually wasn’t favorite thing we rented. #TimsTwitterListeningParty
The Korg DW-8000, which by most accounts is not the most coveted of synths, got way more use. It really helped out with the game show vibes on SWOTM #TimsTwitterListeningParty
A. Allie Norton did such a great job nailing the 80s fitness instructor voice, she’s also doing the smooth vocals on the chorus
B. This song fulfilled my fantasy of having a gratuitous sax solo on an MGMT track. Achievement unlocked. #TimsTwitterListeningParty
