*The Root Political Parties*

A political party's strength is at its roots. This root is the reason why today I will argue that truly politics is local.

As I use to say I will never participate in politics, so I never cared to know the content.

I was part of the #BBOG from 2014 and on May 1, 2014 met @toluogunlesi who I have come to respect.

Back to the topic on politics. I am from Oloru town in, Oloru Ward, Moro Local Government in Kwara state. Moro has 17 wards. Each ward has 27 ward executives.

Each executive are carefully picked from the 30 villages in Oloru ward. The ward executives are the Ward Chairman, vice Chairman, Secretary, Women Leader, Deputy Women Leader, Youth leader, Deputy Women Leader, PRO, Deputy PRO, Treasurer, Deputy Treasurer etc.

No village is supposed to produce more than 2 executives but because Oloru is big, we have more than 1 exco. This is the root of politics in Oloru ward for APC.

17 wards, 27 Excos, Moro LG has 459 ward executives. Kwara state has 193 wards, that is 5,211 executives at ward level

Each Local Government has 27 LG executives, just as the selection / election of ward executives are spread at the various wards, the LG executives are shared by the wards. Next are the senatorial excos, the state excos, Zonal Excos and the National Excos.

We have 36 states all these states have wards and LGs. All political office holders are automatic excos. From the Governor to the senators, Reps, HoA members, Commissioners, advisers, Board members. From the LG chairmen to the various counsellors etc.

What we should know is that all these are the automatic delegates for primary elections. And primary elections are the most important part of any government. This is where the saying "Politics is Local" comes from. If you are not there, they wont call you.

Nigerian youths, if we want a political party, we must start like yesterday if truly we want to have a say in 2023 elections and it has to be local. If there is no resources for a new party, it is best we hijack one of the existing parties with our numbers.

No matter how good you are to your neighbors and friends when it it time for elections, immediately you pick up a nomination form to contest, they will remind you that you are not from that community. A politician connects seamlessly with his roots through the political structure

I am a politician and it is a very challenging field, I cannot compete with a doctor in his or her field, I will be floored when we debate my field using his/her medium. For you to be politically relevant, you must be accepted at the root
