Questions now for overall turnout:
- How much more mail is yet to be returned? (Keep in mind some states accept ballots postmarked by Election Day)
- How much mail is returned, but not entered as processed yet?
- How much Election Day vote will be cast?
Should add
- A few states are still offering in-person early voting. How much more in-person?
CORRECTION: at least 93.1 million voted. I corrected a data entry entry in the Virginia mail ballots received where I had entered mail ballot requests.
Washington turnout is going to go higher. This all-mail ballot state has the longest post-election period of accepting mail ballots, if the ballot has a postmark on or before Election Day
This report includes updates from AR, DC, IL, and MD
MN and WY #earlyvote updates posted. At least 96.2 million people have voted in the 2020 general election. @MNSecofState is indicating we may get a second update today, which is a treat since they've been posting only on Fridays electproject.github.io/Early-Vote-202…
This update includes CA. Not quite enough to get us to 88 million. Weekend reporting is typically slowed, so don't expect huge daily numbers over the weekend. I would guess we'll be around 100 million by Tuesday morning
Over the weekend, I plan to post a turnout estimate, which will be loaded into the exit poll system as the preliminary number most media orgs will start with on election night. Of course, we'll continue to fine tune the number, especially on election night as the returns come in
