It’s #haryanadiwas....But What does Haryana mean for you?...For me it’s much much more than just a state of modern Indian polity...It is birth place of Kartikeya..birth place of Democracy..land of awesome warriors who fought Islamic invaders in style..wanna know more about it?
The name Haryana appears first in the inscriptions of medieval times...

For eg this Palam Baoli inscription from 1276 AD makes reference to the land of Haryanaka.

Palam is referred to as Palamba and yes it’s the same place where Delhi international airport is located today.
On the side note: donor of the Baoli was resident of Delhi which he refers to as Sri Yoginipur. His description of his ancestral homeland of Punjab and its rivers is equally interesting. Notice the ancient Hindu names of the rivers of Punjab
Similarly names of many other towns and places of Haryana as we know them today appears in ancient and medieval inscriptions & literature as well.
The prosperity of medieval Haryana was well known to Indians. Here’s how Somadeva - A Kannada author from far away land describe the land of Haryana (& Eastern Punjab) and it’s people some 1000 years ago.
Do note how he specifically mentions about the popularity of the worship of Kartikeya in the land.

As per Skandapurana it was at Sthanutirtha (Modern Thanesar in Haryana) where Kartikeya was born and consecrated as Senapati of the Devas.
The coins from the land also shows strong connection of Kartikeya worship among the people of Harayana in Ancient times.

According another legend Rohitakam (Rohatak of modern times) was his favorite abode. Must be a popular pilgrim place of lord Skanda in ancient times!
Also note the name Yaudheya country used by Somadeva. It was an ancient name for the land of Haryana and parts of Eastern Punjab. Fame and prestige of Yaudheya country and it’s people was unmatched in ancient India.
Here’s concise History of Yaudheya people as they were known to the ancient Indians and Greeks..

Note that Yaudheyas were a Gana rajya/republican polity. Per Greeks, Parliament of Yaudheya country had 5000 representatives.

For some reason however we never ought to highlight the fact that Birthplace of our democracy not Europe but was ancient Northwestern India! 🤔
This ancient democratic institutes of Haryana would survive for long. Later on they would give rise to Khap Panchayats which would play a strong role in fight against Islamic invaders which is another glorious chapter in the history of the land.
Here’s the concise history of 1000 years of struggle against Jihadis.

It’s testimony to the fact that When the ancient roots are strong even worst of Jihadi storm can’t uproot the civilization.

So that’s our Land of Haryana. Ancient and Glorious..Martial and Pious...And that’s how we should remember it and celebrate it.. #haryanadiwas

Horrible lies of Islamists “...

Let’s take the case of Vatapi Ganapati.

The idol of Ganesh was taken from Badami by Paranjothi - A Pallava commander of Narasimhavarman. He brought the idol back to his homeland & consecrated the idol in majestic temple at Tiruchenkattankudi. 1/
The idol is still in active worship & popularly known as Vatapi(Badami) Ganapati. Later on in 18th CE inspired by same Murti Muthuswami Dikshitar composed a devotional hymn “Vatapi Ganapatim Bhaje” Today it is often sung at the beginning of Carnatic music concerts.
Same is the case with other recorded incidents of similar kind. Note that the purpose here was not looting or destroying idols out of iconoclastic zeal but rather taking them to their native land with the intent to consecrate/worship them lured by the divinity of the Murti.

Indian Muslims...sorry Muslims living in India blackmailing Hindus living in a gulf countries with their Arab masters, needs to be boycotted completely by Hindus within India. It is a two way street. They don’t hold any leverage on Hindus!
Weed out the Muslims living in India who are gleefully complaining to Arab masters...boycott them completely from society...and then see...but for that Hindus have to unite first as Hindus!
Also those Hindus are in the gulf countries because Arabs NEED them. They NEED skilled Hindu doctors and engineers...They NEED Hindu entrepreneurs to generate wealth for them. They NEED Hindu laborers...Otherwise desert barbarians knew nothing but raiding..not even farming!

1) Once again Timeline is witnessing that perennial "Sikhism is 100% distinct from Hinduism" vs "You can't separate Sikhism from its Dharmic roots" argument between Khalistanis and Hindus!
2) And once again erudite Hindutvavadis/Hindus/Hinduvadis put forward well articulated arguments emphasizing the fact that Sikhism is but the Dharmic Sampradaya like other sects of Hinduism and not distinct identity or that it can't be seen without the context of Hinduism.
3) Keeping aside the debate however this vary arguments bags few question for introspection! What was that context of Hinduism (of Punjab) which formed backdrop for Sikhism? Or if Sikhism is but one sampradaya then what about other Sampradayas prevalent in Punjab? 🤔 etc

Your disappointment is valid but target is wrong. Let me explain why.

When archeological restoration is done one of the basic aim is to make sure that we don’t alter the original structure or hide it. Restoration should not come at the cost of antique ness of structure. 1/n
This can be achieved for partially dilapidated temples in few ways.

1) Make the exact replica of the lost part (for eg replica of broken or lost sculptures)& add it to the original. In that way we can not only preserve antiquity but we can revive it back to its full glory. 2/n
& That is all we truly desire. To revive our temples to full glory. But there are few problems to it.

First - to make exact replicas we need artists - Murtikara, Athapaskan, Chitrakara etc who are still well versed in medieval temple architecture and artistic traditions. 3/n
