Thread: Verses of the Qur’an that will bring us back to our senses

I begin with the Name of Allaah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

"O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did)." Qur'an 84:6

"Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, He surely will receive an easy reckoning, And will return to his family in joy!

Qur'an 84:7-9

"But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, He will invoke (his) destruction, And shall enter a blazing Fire, and made to taste its burning. Verily, he was among his people in joy! Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)!" Qur'an 84:10-14

"And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), So announce to them a painful torment."Qur'an 84:23

"Save those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them is a reward that will never come to an end (i.e. Paradise)." Qur'an 84:25

"There is no soul without a vigilant angel ˹recording everything˺." Qur'an 86:4

Indeed, it is We Who created humankind and ˹fully˺ know what their souls whisper to them, and We are closer to them than ˹their˺ jugular vein." Qur'an 50:16

As the two recording-angels—˹one˺ sitting to the right, and ˹the other to˺ the left—note ˹everything˺, not a word does a person utter without having a ˹vigilant˺ observer ready ˹to write it down˺." Qur'an 50:17-18

And the Trumpet will be blown. This is the Day ˹you were˺ warned of. Each soul will come forth with an angel to drive it & another to testify. ˹It will be said to the denier,˺ “You were totally heedless of this. Now We have lifted this veil of yours, so Today your sight is sharp!

And one’s accompanying-angel will say, “Here is the record ready with me.” ˹It will be said to both angels,˺ “Throw into Hell every stubborn disbeliever, withholder of good, transgressor, & doubter, who set up another god with Allah. So cast them into the severe punishment.” Q50

One’s ˹devilish˺ associate will say, “Our Lord! I did not make them transgress. Rather, they were far astray ˹on their own˺.” Allah will respond, “Do not dispute in My presence, since I had already given you a warning.. "Qur'an 50: 27-28

"And Allah warns you against Himself (His Punishment), and to Allah is the final return." Qur'an 3:28

Oh Muslim brothers and sisters in Islam, repent from your sins before death visits us and then we will be so humbled by death that nothing will matter again except our deeds. Do good deeds and strive to leave behind a good legacy.

This verse here introduces every sinner to the Mercy of Allah as well as His Punishment

"The Forgiver of sin, the Acceptor of repentance, the Severe in punishment, the Bestower (of favours), La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), to Him is the final return." Qur'an 40:3
