I know, I know... Election Day... it’s going to be a doozy, etc. etc.
Our home today:
It’s been one of the best days so far in a while.
*We started out with one kid feeling sick and big brother coming down to tell us, and get brother a bucket. (Love)
*Two kids got dressed with out attitude and started eating breakfast. (Goodness)
*Sick kid felt better, got dressed, came down, & ate breakfast with a smile on his face (joy)
*First grader was accepted expectations of school work directly following breakfast. (Peace)
*Two youngest kids got to work playing and waiting for school to get to the last activity of drawing lessons. They love to join in for those. (Patience)
*While waiting there was a small dispute with #MiddleMan trying to explain an idea to #BabyGirl. I helped the two of them communicate better but the reality was, he was just trying to help her. (Kindness)
*One of our issues lately has been angry attitudes about needing to do school work before playing. #LittleMan had some trouble with some of the work but today, he didn’t erupt and scribble out all his copy work. (Self control)
*In fact, he stuck to his work and had one of his best copy work pages in weeks. He constantly sat and grabbed a new color for each word and wrote out all of Prov 19:17. We discussed taking a break but he wanted to stick with it and finish. (Faithfulness)
*I haven’t yelled at the kids so far today. I struggle with my temper but with the Lord’s help, I’ve been able to communicate calmly. (Gentleness)
I think after lunch - and I’ve already offered this to the kids - we are going to walk to the neighborhood park and play.
So - Election Day, so what. I pray that the Lord be King of my heart and Ruler of our little peaceable kingdom.
He can do that in our home, he can do it in yours.
I pray it be one little home that fills with so much Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Gentleness, Faithfulness, & Self Control that it bursts at the seams and seeps out bless to our neighbors.
