I read this understanding the vast dysfunction and lack of accountability present in Evangelical life
The failure at every turn to hold power accountability
The failure to call for justice as we witness hypocrisy
The failure to say we will not abide these policies... This president... This administration
We watched white Evangelical pastors abide wickedness for 4 years and they held their noses because they were intoxicated with power
It's not a big... It's an Evangelical feature...
It's the character of evangelicalism...
I've sat in your churches... I've witnessed your ministry... I've heard your sermons... I've seen you write article after article begging to "get back to pastoring, ministry, faith"
But not a single time have you said "we were wrong... We repent"
Because the character of white supremacy is... Never repent
And after we leave this moment... If there is a future to intentional faith spaces... Love will need to be manifest through repentance... In thought, word, and deed
There are communities that have been obliterated by Donald John Trump's policies... If you stood by and accommodated those policies you're complicit
People have lost their lives... If you stood by... If you stood silent... You were complicit
Black male pastors... If you were going along to get along... You were complicit
I know we don't want to hear this... But love come with accountability.... If you do wrong... Ask to be forgiven and embody repentance
Model a better quality of love and accountability than... "Awe shucks we thought he was Cyrus but he was really Caesar"
Love may not keep a record... But the Lord does

When I use the term "church home" I'm referring to whatever to your community of accountability looks like... If that's your healing circle... Yoga class... Dem folks that sell you Shea butter... Community service... Social engagement...ect
I know I should care more about "what you believe" I just don't
