i’m in Philly at a rally of hundreds who’ve come out to support counting every vote and also to protest after the release of bodycam footage in the death of Walter Wallace Jr.
“long live Walter Wallace,” they’re chanting.
the BLM protest marched to Mayor Jim Kenney’s Old City apartment.
“i’m going to tell jim kenney again: i need you to wake up, shake off, or get the hell out of office,” Gabe Bryant from Black Philly Radical Collective told the crowd.
new bodycam video showing the police shooting of Walter Wallace Jr was released Wednesday afternoon, shortly before this crowd gathered.
“how many times can we watch these god damn snuff films?” organizer Gabe Bryant asked the crowd.
the march ended outside Independence Mall, where two Black Lives Matter Philly organizers, Krystal Strong and YahNé Ndgo, spoke to the crowd about the importance of staying strong, fighting back and led the crowd in chanting “we are free”
and the protest ended with this powerful moment: Black protesters were called to the front to stand together and recite the “it is our duty to fight for our freedom” quote by activist Assata Shakur

Back at the Philly convention center, where it’s celebration vibes this morning. “it’s time for this administration to surrender for democracy” declared a speaker at the count every votes protest. “if you come for Philadelphia, we’ll come for YOU”
also people are SO quick, this gritty game of thrones meme is like HOURS old
i’m at the Philly convention center today where there are two competing rallies: a few dozen people at a Count Every Vote rally and a handful of MAGA types
this man is holding a “sorry polls are closed” sign but declined to speak. his sign is referring to the PA supreme court decision that allows mail in ballots received up to three days after election day to be counted, which SCOTUS declined to hear.
Patrick Pellicciotti, 64, a former iron worker is a republican poll watcher.
He said he’s concerned that poll workers are throwing away Trump ballots (to be clear, there is ZERO evidence this is occurring). “They’re so far away we can’t see nothing,” he told me.
I’m at Michael Cohen’s hearing today to get an update on the material seized from him, how the special master is going seeing which docs are covered by attorney-client privilege AND to see if Michael Avenatti, aka Stormy Daniels lawyer, can be involved in the case. Stay tuned!
OK so the fight between Michael Avenatti and Michael Cohen’s lawyer and President Trump’s lawyer was VICIOUS. Cohen’s lawyer Steve Ryan called Avenatti’s release of Cohen’s financial info as “a premeditated drive-by shooting of my client’s rights”
“I’ve practiced law for 37 years and never risen to oppose a pro hac vice application” said Ryan (which is when a lawyer applies to be admitted in a jurisdiction they’re not licensed to practice, which is what Avenatti is trying to do in this case).
I’m at Manhattan federal court for this today! Michael Cohen will be there! And Stormy Daniels! And Trump lawyers! I’m about to lose my phone but will tweet when out, stay tuned!

OK finally free to tweet the juicy bits from the Michael Cohen hearing and OMG that was dramatic, it was like an episode of... I have no idea of court room drama since Ally McBeal, but it was juicy. First here’s story w @chrisgeidner on what happened buzzfeed.com/amberjamieson/…
So there was at least 50 people (journalists and members of public) in line waiting to get in an hour before the hearing even started. There were dozens of cameras waiting outside. Michael Cohen walked past our waiting line at 1:05pm, but doesn’t respond to shouted qs.
This morning we had Trump’s lawyers, Michael Cohen’s lawyers, Stormy Daniels’ lawyer and the US Attorneys Office all in one courtroom! Exciting! Read about it here: buzzfeed.com/amberjamieson/…
Stormy Daniels lawyer Michael Avenatti sat directly behind Cohen’s lawyer and right in front of all the reporters, and had the whole courtroom whispering at his arrival.
Stormy Daniels lawyer kept quiet til right at the end and then asked to be heard this afternoon. “We have every reason to believe some of the documents received relate to my client and privacy issues you speak about,” he told the court.
