There's this weird assumption among white liberals that Texas is a blue state in waiting bc of its high Latino population, but that's not how it works! Latinos aren't a monolith, and it's really not that hard to find non-white conservatives in Texas.

I think some people are also assuming that this is about more Latinos in states like Florida or Texas becoming and identifying as white but I don't think that tells the full story, I've met Latino Trumps supporters who are very clearly not white, plus some Arabs and East Asians.

Anyway, Latinos aren't a monolith, Latinos are a culturally, racially, and politically diverse group and there's no such thing as "the Latino vote." Latinos don't vote as a bloc the way that, for example, Orthodox Jews in New York do. This really isn't that complicated.
