BREAKING: Trump's chief of staff, Mark Meadows, has the coronavirus. Meadows informed a close circle of advisers after the election.

Meadows was at campaign HQ on Tuesday with Trump without a mask and again on Wednesday — also without a mask, aides tell me.
Mark Meadows, diagnosed Wednesday, was in White House on Tuesday, up in residence with Jared Kushner, Ivanka, Don Jr, Eric, Lara, Tiffany, others (some who‘ve had coronavirus: @POTUS, Bill Stepien, Hope Hicks, Kimberly Guilfoyle) as well as in East Room for Trump's 2:30a remarks.

NEWS: Senate Republicans are developing plans to begin confirmation hearings around Oct. 12 for Trump's pick to replace the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the US Supreme Court. It's all TENTATIVE. But could lead to a final vote by the full Senate the week of Oct. 26, sources say.

The GOP designed the finale of its convention tonight to include veterans with disabilities standing in respect for the flag as Trace Adkins sang “Star-Spangled Banner” at Fort McHenry, the fort that inspired Francis Scott Key to write the words.
Trump hasn’t publicly brought up Jacob Blake or NBA players’ boycott, although he did speak out against “lawlessness on American streets,” China, Hurricane Laura amid a string of tweets of videos of GOP convention. WH declined to confirm yday whether he tried to call Blake’s mom.

3.57 million acres of Iowa corn and 2.5 million acres soybeans took brunt of derecho, per @MikeNaigIA.

Growers will decide in next couple weeks whether to try to harvest corn crop as forage to feed animals, or if it's healthy enough to harvest for grain, @DonnelleE reports.
