To all my friends and colleagues in the New England area IT sector, this is important - please read the following (there's a lot of you out there, and I'm really counting on you to come through):

A friend of mine, who's a retired DEC engineer and IT professional himself,
spends his time refurbishing computers to donate to charities and other needy individuals and organizations.

Right now he's trying to put together a donation of desktops for the Strongwater Farm Therapeutic Riding Center in Tewksbury MA, which is a fantastic organization that
provides services for people with emotional and physical challenges.

strongwaterfarm.org

They're looking for desktop computer rigs - any Windows-capable machine of approx. 2010 vintage or better in working condition, plus screens, mice, etc.

Bob and I will erase them,
refurbish them, and get them to the Farm where they can be of use.

Please search your junk closets, recycle piles, and all such, and let me know what you've got.

If you haven't got gear to donate please share this posting - let's cast the widest net we can.
There's thousands of you out there there that I've worked with over the last 35 years, and you're all connected to thousands of others.

Let's get these folks the gear they need.
PS: If we acquire more computers than are needed for Strongwater Farm (either PCs or Macs) they will be donated to other organizations and families in need. We're currently working with and assessing the needs of Girls Inc and The Boys and Girls Club, both of Lowell, MA. #charity
If anyone has PC or Mac laptops or desktops to donate, or knows an organization or family in need, you can contact me at:
