In creating Suzieq, github.com/netenglabs/suz…, @ddcumulus, we've created something useful for network operators., but we haven't figured out how to tell the story well to get the attention it deserves. We've been labeling it as network observability, which doesn't seem to resonate.
I'm wondering if network exploration or exploratory network analysis works better.
Suzieq is more than exploration, but that is the functionality we've focused on so far. It' allows you to dive in and understand what your network is up to in a coherent and systematic way.
You can use it to see if your network is behaving the way you think it does. (We'll be adding a lot more functionality for this over time.)
You can use it to find things in your network, like where a MAC address is, or how many MACs you have overall in your network.
Anywho, try it out. We think it's really useful. Join in and contribute to make it so much better.
And let us know what it needs to get better and to be useful. Do you HAVE to have a GUI? Let us know. Do you have to have a protocol or OS we don't yes support? Let us know. Or contribute code :)
