So some of my colleagues from CNN to NBC to Fox to ABC to PBS have also offered some auction items -- all money goes to build specially-designed homes for severely wounded veterans via @HomesForOurTrps
So last night our Veterans Day auction launched -- all of the money goes to build specially-designed homes for severely wounded veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan.
Because of the pandemic, many celebrities donated ZOOM calls with them!
3/ How about a Zoom call with the stellar @ElizabethBanks? Icon and badass and hilarious and all money goes to build specially-designed homes for severely wounded veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan.
Thank you to the veterans out there. Thank you for your years away from family and sacrifices and risks. Thank you for working tirelessly and without financial reward or even recognition. Thank you. 🇺🇸
So we're holding a little auction on @eBay for the next week, and ALL the proceeds go to help build specially-designed homes for severely wounded veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan via @HomesForOurTrps.
Let me walk you through some of the items! Please bid if you can:
2/ Here's a VEEP script signed by castmembers including Julia Louis-Dreyfus (@OfficialJLD), @MrTonyHale and more!
Folks have chipped in Zoom calls and cool swag for you to bid on at eBay.com/hfot
2/ ALL proceeds go to a wonderful and high rated charity, @HomesForOurTrps, which builds specially-designed, mortgage-free homes for severely wounded veterans of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Secretary of Defense Mark Esper has been pushing back on President Donald Trump since 2019, which is important context for today’s firing, senior administration officials tell CNN.
1/
2/ Esper was among those administration officials in 2019 who urged Trump to release the aid to Ukraine, as we (and others) reported last Fall.
Trump was using the aid as leverage for dirt on the Biden family.
3/ Esper also cautioned Trump not to completely pull troops out of northern Syria, and after the Lafayette Square mishap, was extra careful to try to keep the US military out of the realm of the President's political desires, senior administration officials tell CNN.
