As President Donald Trump seeks to discredit #Election2020 with baseless claims of voter fraud, his team has bombarded his supporters with requests for money to help pay for legal challenges to the results reut.rs/3plk2pF 1/5 Image
But any small-dollar donations from Trump’s grassroots donors won’t be going to legal expenses at all, according to @Reuters review of the legal language in the solicitations 2/5 Image
The emailed solicitations send supporters to an 'Official Election Defense Fund' website that asks them to sign up for recurring donations to 'protect the results and keep fighting'. The fine print makes clear most of the money will go to other priorities 3/5 Image

President Donald Trump hopes a recount of votes will help keep President-elect Biden out of the White House, but as common as recounts may be, they rarely change the results of U.S. elections and none for a presidential election. Here’s a closer look: reut.rs/38yNRNs 1/9 Image
What is a recount?
In a recount, authorities repeat the process of tallying up votes. They are a relatively common feature of U.S. elections, though rare in presidential contests. States handle recounts differently, but the process mostly comes down to re-tallying the votes 2/9 ImageImage
Can Trump get a recount?
Every state sets its own threshold for when to do a recount. Some require one whenever an election is especially close 3/9 Image
