The US didn't get suddenly divided. After years of identity politics, it is hard to seriously credit denunciations of instability. If anything is surprising it was that the crash took this long.
Abusing trust is a little like printing money. Things go bad slowly than all of a sudden. “Payment Error: (15005) - Processor Decline - This transaction cannot be processed.”

Kutuzov's big strategic insight was that it was more important to preserve the army than defend fixed places against Napoleon. Part of the reason the cheating allegations are being pursued is they keep the army of Deplorables together rather than scattering into the night.

The reason people "don't want to go there" or are reluctant to open a can of worms is because they fear the consequences of knowing.
There's lots of things we don't want to know because it's easier that way.
The consequences of discovering that the election was rigged are so terrifying that if it was not absolutely staring you in the face you would prefer to avoid it. For "the sake of the country" you would not go there.

It's important that the legal fight continue till it's official because the possibility of cheating is not forgiven and an issue in itself.
It's not the first nor the last time cheating is alleged. And it could victimize the Democrats too.
As a practical matter no stable political solution can be safely founded on news agency projections, not after such a bruising fight.

The decision to fight the 2020 presidential election counts to the last legal motion may not stop Biden from acceding to the WH but it will succeed in exposing cheating allegations. A significant % of the US and world will or already have concluded the election was stolen.

Paradoxically it is easier for a clearly dominant player to warp the process in his favor than it is for a party at near parity or slight inferiority to attempt the same. If you try a fast one on someone as big or actually bigger than you it becomes very risky.

The left banner is poised to claim credit for what was left of the old centrists. You will not be so easily rid of them.
Maybe your best bet is your original idea: to create a self-governing society on Mars.
The other option is raise the new banner on a virtual, internal planet, which exists on earth but is a world unto itself, like the fancy hotel John Wick goes to.
