NEW: I’m told by multiple sources Biden’s biggest decision right now is Secretary of State – and Obama is pushing Susan Rice for the job.
Sources say Rice would bring diversity, deep institutional knowledge and experience – and was already vetted while under consideration for Biden’s VP pick. She also has necessary clearances and would blunt GSA ascertainment delays.
Her handling of Michael Flynn would also signal to the world that things are “going back to normal” under Biden’s administration – but some democrats are concerned she would have a confirmation problem because of Benghazi. People closer to Biden dismissed the thought.
Further—I’m told Sen. Chris Coons is very much reaching for the role, and his appointment would not deplete democratic ranks because the governor could tap Lisa Blunt-Rochester to replace him. Other considerations include Tony Blinken, William Burns, Sen. Chris Murphy.

THREAD: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is armed with a nuclear option if President Trump attempts to steal the election through an electoral college play. 1/9
“There’s no light at the end of the tunnel for President Trump in the House. If he thinks he can convince GOP legislatures to deny Biden electors, Pelosi will consider denying Republicans on the same ballot from being seated. She holds the ace card,” a Dem source tells me. 2/9
Because state gov'ts formally certify election results & send electors to the Electoral College meeting, President Trump and his allies have engaged in several lawsuits aimed at blocking secretaries of state in contested swing states from certifying the results. 3/9

NEW: Senator Lankford (R-OK) says Joe Biden, as President-elect, should be receiving the Presidential daily briefing in the interest of national security– and if he is not receiving it by Friday, he will step in his Oversight Committee capacity.
Lankford said he has already “already started engaging in this area”, and pointed out that VP-elect Kamala Harris is on the Intel Committee, and  also has all necessary clearances to be receiving the briefings.
Lankford claimed that Friday would be the first day the GSA can certify the election – although it is unclear to me why that is—and further explained the congressional process confirming the electoral college votes. Comments below:

FBI indicates it IS investigating POSSIBILITY of foreign interference on Hunter Biden laptop: “nothing to add” to Ratcliffe’s claim that it’s NOT Russian disinfo, adding if actionable intel develops, FBI *may* inform Homeland Security Cmte
Democratic official with knowledge of intelligence committee discussions tells me:

The FBI will not confirm exactly what they are investigating – adding that this may relate to the ongoing investigation around Rudy Giuliani that has been recently reported...
...However, members of the intelligence committee have learned that the FBI is indeed investigating the provenance of the emails and whether it is part of a foreign disinformation operation – which the FBI would investigate whether or not the emails are real...

NEW, @JenGriffinFNC confirms former Trump admin official confirms details in The Atlantic story, including quotes about veterans. When the President spoke about the Vietnam War he said, “It was a stupid war. Anyone who went was a sucker.”
Per @JenGriffinFNC: This former official heard the President say about American veterans: “’What’s in it for them? They don’t make any money?’ It was a character flaw of the President: he could not understand why someone would die for their country, not worth it.”
MORE from @JenGriffinFNC Regarding the President’s July 4th military parade planning, during a planning at White House after seeing the Bastille Day parade in 2017, the President said regarding the inclusion of “wounded guys” “that’s not a good look” “Americans don’t like that.”
