Many times, Sachin had to conquer a lone battle within himself as well. There were times he felt his injuries or a minor loss in form would take his career & his Cricket away from himself.
But, he kept fighting against all odds and came out victorious each time🙌
Being that kid who loves to add fun with work while being the best student too was a phrase so very apt for our Master in all phases of his personal & professional lives. Always the one to keep the unit together with his wonderful deft touches & scorching shots too

The start of a historic game of cricket - the 2nd Tied Test in history, Ind v Aus.
A Test which was maddeningly exciting because of quality of cricket as well as for the elements of weather involved - the merciless Chennai heat, humidity.

Allan Border had brought a young Aus side to Indian shores as part of an ongoing renaissance of Aus cricket. The Indians involved in this 3 Test series were very experienced, led by Kapil Dev himself. Gavaskar was playing in his 100th consecutive Test.
In this, the 1st Test at Chennai, Border won the toss and decided to bat first. The heroes on Day 1 for Aus were David Boon (122 with 21 x 4s) and Dean Jones (54*).
Deano scored slowly in his 50 but made sure he understood the bowling and the conditions.
Stumps on Day1: Aus 211/2
Ladies & Gentlemen, no Test Match to watch today evening (as per IST) and so we want to tell you a little story.
A story about this 89 year old man who celebrates his birthday today.
(Thread to follow).
It's Dec 1960. WI are in Australia to play a 5 match series. The 1st Test for visitors to Aus was hosted by The Gabba, of course. Both teams were captained by players who wanted to play positive cricket.
In an era of boring Tests, this resolve came like a breath of fresh air.
The teams are full of names that we remember even after so many years. WI have Worrell (C), Kanhai, Sobers, Wes Hall, Ramadhin & Valentine among others. Aus have Harvey, Bob Simpson, Davidson, Benaud (C).
