its ok, Tharma Pillai call PSM an Indian political party, we get that name/tag a lot too

i know this is bcoz PSM have many indian members, and most of the public/famous figure (Arul, Dr Kumar, Sivarajani, Arveent) are indian

but hey,why we have many indian member har?

because PSM working closely with estate worker, and more than 50% estate worker are indian (in last time la, now are migrant workers)

one of the key struggle facing by estate worker is housing right

do u know if estate worker no longer work in estate,they have to move out from estate?

you may say bcoz employer provide housing for worker,if no more working here then cannot stay la

thats true,and thats also an excuse use by employer to evict worker's children who turn 18

worker been working their whole life in estate,and to avoid evict out from their house, their children have no choice but join their work too

employer pay them extremely low pay,they only get a little bit decent pay after minimum wage act passed, but for god sake only RM900!

but, employer provide a place to stay, so worker no need to rent house outside,it's good thou...

ya, but it's actually the British colonize practice, lock you inside the estate, cut all the outside connection, so you will not "influence" and stand up fight for your right

so many estate workers work their whole life in estate, some even work two generation, but when they retire, or employer decide to sell the estate to developer, worker whom stay there suddenly lost their place to stay

so people reach out to PSM

this is grass-root's problem, so PSM fight la

when developer come with gengster or police to evict estate worker, PSM stay with them, facing gengster and police

(and these gengster and police they are very violence, they will show gun, ya, gun🔫 , to threaten workers)

when estate worker reach out to other parties,they will told received pampasan and leave, PSM told them pampasan is not fair to them,and its not right too

so we fight for "rumah ganti rumah" to protect their housing right

when employer or developer come with lawyers and bring things to court, estate worker have no resource and access to any legal help, psm help in getting lawyer and empower the workers

and we won many cases

worker appreciate PSM helps, they see PSM efforts

therefore they join PSM

therefore we have many indian member in PSM

therefore people calling us "indian party"

i learn alot from them just by listen to their story about how they fight gengster and police violence, how they travel nationwide to empower other estate workers, how they won the court cases, how they rush to other estate when they hear gengster/police come to harrass them

so i dont mind people calling us indian party, bcoz most of our indian member are fighter in their struggle, and i am proud i am in this "indian party"
