Going to doing some testing. What questions do you have about the new #MacBookProM1?

One open USB port on my professional MacBook. Here's the power adapter against a mini 12. I'm told I won't need the adapter as it gets 20 months of battery life. 😀 I'm immediately invited to download the 3GB Big Sur update within the first few minutes. #MacBookProM1

Updated BigSur. Installed my preferred browser, Microsoft Edge. Successful. Edge crashed within 5 minutes. No idea what these error codes mean, do you? Entering my password to reboot. Interesting. Restarting. No fan noise yet. #MacbookProM1

No fan noise yet while rebooting and updating Big Sur. But we do have 11 minutes to go. We'll see. #MacBookProM1

Up and running again. Clicked on Edge and asking me to install Rosetta again. I already installed it. Maybe Big Sur update uninstalled it? Reinstalled Rosetta. Edge keeps crashing. Ok time to move to my favorite local Office package. Hoping this goes better. #MacBookProM1

Office 365 Installed. Wondering if there's a load lag when using Rosetta. So far so good. Will use this as my primary work device tomorrow if I can connect to a second display. #MacBookProM1

Let's add some peripherals. Logitech C922 with Camera Control app. Worked well for a few minutes (was impressed) then crashed. I'll use it on some Teams, Zoom, WebEx, 8x8, Meet calls tomorrow. #MacBookProM1

Funky stuff going on with Skype for Biz, Logitech C922 and #MacBookProM1. Camera flips automagically between the two during the call. Yes, there are actually tech companies that use Skype unfortunately.

Dell Mobile Adapter (USBC) is working well so far. Have HDMI out, Logitech keyboard and mouse and VOIP speakerphone. #MacBookProM1

Interesting. When I give the Logitech C922 its own USB port (not shared with USB keyboard and mouse dongle and graphics out), the camera operates as you'd expect. Wondering if there's a USB bandwidth or arbitration issue on the #MacBookProM1 controller.

Chrome M1 working well so far. No crashes yet. And fast. You want to heat up the #MacBookProM1 and get the fans going? Do a WebEx or Zoom call. First time I've heard the fan. Palm rests very warm. Just ordered a Flir camera.

The HP Smart app for printers works for my Tango printer with the #MacBookProM1. It looks like a PWA so I guess shouldn't be surprised. Will try scanning on another printer.

The Mac backup software for my Samsung Portable SSD T5 failed installation on the #MacBookProM1.

My battery life is improving on the #MacBookProM1. I got an extra 30 minutes to about 5+ hours to 10%.

Adobe Reader XI 11.0.10 will not install on my #MacBookProM1. Here's the exciting video. Kinda like watching drying paint, I know. Any ideas Twitter hive?

Acrobat DC will not install either. "Acrobat DC not yet available for devices with Apple silicon. (Error code: 405)" #MacBookProM1

Box Drive won't install on the #MacBookProM1. I think this is likely a Big Sur issue and not an M1 issue.

HP Printer Drivers v5.1 not installing on the #MacBookProM1 This driver is most commonly used for older printers, including corporate printers.

WinZip 8 installed but will not run on the #MacBookProM1 winzip.com/mac/en/

I love the #MacBookAirM1 screenshot and recorder app. AVI output sucks but easy convert. Windows 10 seriously needs this. No, Snipping Tool nor Snip & Sketch cuts it.

Impressed that my Brother DS-640 scanner and app worked on the #MacBookProM1. *And* I updated its firmware. Just shows what Apple devs can do if they work at it.

My T3 hubs finally came in to test >1 external display on the #MacBookProM1. Unfortunately came in later, I plan on celebrating Thanksgiving, so next week!
