New coronavirus modelling from Canada's Public Health Agency demonstrates the rapid growth of the virus, with the average number of daily cases approaching 5,000 per day.
The spread of COVID-19 in Canada is in a growth pattern, Canada's top health officials say. Modelling indicates that for every person infected, the virus is being transmitted to at least one other person.
Data complied by Canada's Public Health Agency shows that the percentage of people testing positive for COVID-19 is increasing, and has now exceeded 6%.
Short-term forecast for the spread of COVID-19 in Canada suggest that rapid growth will continue, with the number of cases reaching between 366,500 and 378,600 by the end of the month, with the number of fatalities falling between 11,870 and 12,120.
Long-range forecast for COVID-19 growth indicates a strong response is required to slow the spread.
