/ At the start, no one believed it could be built. Not even me. Honestly – I told @rigelprime it couldn't be done, but I didn’t let that stop me from a week of feverish coding to prove to myself I was wrong.
/ People shrugged it off. Even with our early demos in the market, there was no parallel for this. Apple and Google didn’t see fast adoption of app-based AR. Why would we succeed otherwise?
/ The economics of WebAR made much more sense than app-based AR and headset-based AR: Works on every phone. No app downloads. Instant publishing. Easy integration with existing web tools and apis.
/ We built the tech, but we also built the tools. Cloud-editor, integrated source control, global publishing, developer tools, video recording, discovery, billing, etc. You can create and publish AR globally in under two minutes on 8th Wall? Try to do that with an app store.
/ Our partners. 8th Wall doesn’t create content – we rely on the incredible innovation and creativity of our partners. We’ve built an incredible network of businesses, agencies, and brands, and we drive new business to them every day.
/ Our incredible community. Everything is ground up – each project builds on the next, each support question and feedback request has pushed us to make our platform ever bigger and better.
/ The team. Everyone thinks they have the best team. I’m no different – we have the best team. 😛
/ This week we saw the launch of Snoop Dogg, Rita Ora, and Vogue Singapore in WebAR. Exciting times.
/ What’s next for 8th Wall? I can’t wait to find out myself! Have a great Thanksgiving, and let’s start looking to 2021. I think it is going to be a great year, and I look forward to see where it takes us.
