Gopastami in kerala!
Cows were always worshipped in bhathadesa , but the influence of demonic cults like commies & ME attempted to change the concept and this had terrible repercussions on the society. Today many devotees of cows restarted
the ancient tradition of gopastami in kerala.
Here is a pic from the Thiruvalla Divya desam , one among the 108 temples of vishnu. where devotees assembled with decorated cows. here are various pics from length and breadth of Kerala which i received in whatsapp today.

Today is the Thirunakashtram of Andal (Jayanthi).
For the uninitiated, She is one among the 12 Azhwar saints of Srivaishnavism. Her works dedicated to the Supreme lord includes Thiruppavai and Nachiyar Thirumozhi. Some of the intricate doctrines of Srivaishnavism are to be found
in Thiruppavai . Andal never refers to herself as Andal. She would like to be known as Vishnuchittan Kodai, Vishnuchitta or Periyazwar is her father. She was born in Srivilliputhur. The Govt of Tamilnadu chose the Srivilliputhur temple gopuram as its State emblem.

A very personal acquaintance and close friend who is the chief priest of Padmanabha temple of Thiruvananthapuram shared some wisdom which i am penning down ,

It is believed that India is Devabhumi or the Land of Devathas . This land is rich with countless religious.
denominations and temples. We have on the north and south, two Deities who are Lord Narayana's manifestations with His fullest potency - Badari Vishal and Sree Padmanabha Perumal . Any country will have checkposts on the borders to secure its territory. These two Temples may be
considered as divine checkposts into this Devabhumi.

dissolves. Before putting the sugar, the cook shouts, “Vasudeva”. According to the locals, some modern-day researchers tried to scientifically replicate this in their laboratory to find out what caused this payasam to have such a unique and delicious taste.

These beautiful archa thirumenies( deities) were discovered when the sacred pond of famous Koodalmanikyam Bharatha temple was cleaned. in all probability most of them were deposited there by devotees/ temples. a wonderful scene indeed
Venugopala with Shanka chakra, gada, padma with 2 devis doing Amrutha kalasa bath . Amazing archa thirumeni.

its nearly impossible to make one such deity now.
Krishna with butter balls, i can assure that this was certainly a deity worshipped in a srivaishnava home.
