One of my pet roadrunners in Yuma Arizona. They eat like royalty.

They visit my yard everyday and come up to the porch window. This is the baby one.
Here is another roadrunner fluffing its feathers. To warm up after a cold desert night, a roadrunner will turn its back to the sun, fluff its back feathers, and expose skin along its back. This skin is black in order to absorb more solar energy
