Couple observations from the Gettysburg "fraud" conference.

1. Many of the "experts" speaking are new recruits, first timers, angry their "suggestions" were ignored.

2. No evidence of fraud.

3. Dislike for a process they appear to have been observing for the very first time.
4. Data "warfare" expert doesn't like automated devices in general, more Hugo Chavez talk.
5. MUCH "this is the way it should be" in our elections system, and no claims it's any different from any previous election.
6. A lot of the new recruits felt they were treated extremely rudely when they attempted to tell election workers how to do things differently.

NEW: MI GOP leaders issue statement on Trump meeting:

"We have not yet been made aware of any information that would change the outcome of the election in Michigan and as legislative leaders, we will follow the law and follow the normal process regarding Michigan’s electors,
just as we have said throughout this election."

“Michigan’s certification process should be a deliberate process free from threats and intimidation. Allegations of fraudulent behavior should be taken seriously, thoroughly investigated, and if proven, prosecuted to
the full extent of the law. And the candidates who win the most votes win elections and Michigan's electoral votes. These are simple truths that should provide confidence in our elections.”

👉Why Trump can't steal the election in Michigan

“It would take a lot of people violating their duty and not standing up for the law," constitutional law prof @sbagen tells @NBCNews

A THREAD

1. Michigan's state board of canvassers, must under law, certify the vote after
all 83 counties have certified, says Bagenstos.

"If they don't, they'd be violating the law" and will be taken to court by literally anyone, a voter, a lawmaker, many possibilities.

"The statute that governs them says when they have the information, ‘they shall certify.’"
The legislature has no role in this.

"The courts tend to act very quickly on these post-election challenges," he said.

Michigan GOP lawmakers could be treading on thin legal ice with White House meeting

Michigan's Senate Leader Mike Shirkey and Speaker Lee Chatfield are expected in Washington any minute after Trump summoned them to the White House.

The New York Times reported Trump has pressed his own advisers on using state legislatures to circumvent the popular vote.
But Michigan law is clear. According to the secretary of state: The state’s 16 representatives to the Electoral College must go to the candidate who won the popular vote.

“If I were their lawyer I would think twice about letting them put themselves in that kind of compromised

“Speaker Chatfield and Leader Shirkey have been summoned to the White House in a last-minute attempt to overturn the results of the election. The votes have been counted, Michiganders have spoken and they chose Joe Biden to be our next president. The continued attempts to

MI Senate leader Mike Shirkey is on record stating the Legislature would not try to overturn Michiganders' votes by appointing its own slate of electors

“That’s not going to happen.”

👉Some important context as Trump invited MI GOP lawmakers to meet tomorrow at the WH

THREAD
“Michigan law does not include a provision for the Legislature to directly select electors or to award electors to anyone other than the person who received the most votes,” said Amber McCann, a Shirkey spokeswoman.

Biden won the state by nearly 150,000 votes, a margin roughly 14 times larger than Trump’s win here in 2016.
