The beginning of a new omics era: “Single cell omics generate ultra big data”. Great talk on Big data and artificial intelligence – driving personalised medicine of the future given by Dr Fatemeh Vafaee from School of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences, @UNSW.

Dr Brent Edwards from National Acoustic Laboratories is giving the last talk of the Research section of this Forum on How Big Data Can Transform Hearing Healthcare.

After a very nice Spanish lunch, we’re back to the second session: Big Data in Industry. Chair Dr Carmen Salvador-Palomeque @Carmen_S_P introduces Mr Alfonso García-Valdés @Navantia_AU Managing Director talking about “Navantia Australia TLS digitization road map”

Dr Jenaro Sánchez, @Navantia_AU – Chief Technology Officer, continues the presentation “Navantia Australia TLS digitization road map” in our 6th 🇦🇺🇪🇸 Research Forum “Big Data”

Now Dr Tomasz Bednarz @Data61news @UNSW presents “Visual Microscope on Big Data – Expanding Perception and Interaction through Visual Analytics Approaches”

Next is Mr Timothy Scott , WestConnex IOMCS at SICE ANZ - Project Manager, who talks about “Integrated operations of the WestConnex tunnels”

Now Mr Milad Safaei, Indra - Project Manager, presents “Current trends of Big Data in operation and maintenance of Sydney Trains CCTV network”

Last talk is by Ms Alexandra Sherstyuk, Thermo Fisher Scientific - Field Applications Specialist, who presents “The challenges of Next-Generation Sequencing data”

After the break we’re back with a round table chaired by @sgleonsaval “Big-data opportunities and challenges in research and industry” in the 6th 🇦🇺🇪🇸Research Forum “Big Data”

Now it’s time to give the 1st @srap_ieap Laureates Awards!! These go to ex-members of the SRAP-IEAP Board, who have contributed a lot to the success of our association. Huge congrats Óscar, Natalia, Xabi, Ana y Sara and thank you for everything!

Finally, our ex-President, @sgleonsaval @Sydney_Uni, received from HS Ms Alicia Moral-Revilla, Spanish Ambassador in Australia @EmbajadaEspAust, the Distinction “Orden de Isabel la Católica” for his outstanding contribution during the last years. Huge congrats, Sergio!!!
