This house is for sale in Portland just in case you've dreamed of living in an AT-AT walker with headphones
Turns out this architect is 1000% awesome
I mean my god
Here's the architect: oshatz.com

And here's the AT-AT, sadly no interior photos as it's possibly not built yet: redfin.com/OR/Portland/20…
Is my dream to live inside a CD-ROM game? Yes, absolutely
It was a dark time when we decided all 70's wood had to be painted 😩 (I've driven by this building a thousand times and never knew how good it once looked)
Pretty awesome that this one is still standing.
I was looking for some interior pictures of this wild house, and came across one of some shelves. I had to look closer. Animaniacs? Brer Bear? Roger Rabbit? What the heck?

Turns out… this house is currently owned by voice actor Jess Harnell, a.k.a. Wakko Warner!? Just amazing.

I tweeted this once, then felt bad and deleted it, but I can't stop thinking about it, so:

Marketers, I beg of you. It's 0% necessary to overcook a blurred circle. It's a design element. Do not Pepsi yourself

oh no. smucker’s pepsi’d themselves

In a desperate attempt to extract some joy from 2020, we went to uncharted extremes: we bought a used Japanese minivan. Introducing our 1991 Toyota Town Ace. It makes me very happy.
This is the "Super Extra" trim with the incredible "Skylite Roof". It's a diesel, just like my first car. 4WD but you gotta turn a thing on the wheels to activate it and I probably never will. The engine is under the passenger seat. The happy design of it just feels fun.
I cannot express to you how bright and fun and… train-like?… the interior is. The kids absolutely love it. (And fall asleep a lot in it?) And yes, I drive on the right, which took very little adjustment, surprisingly.

It's Friday, please post your favorite old or obscure or long-gone Disney Parks photos!!

Here's some I took during a California Adventure preview event!! ImageImageImageImage
There was this wild-ass parade (Eureka!) that celebrated California culture — yes, that man is wearing a Hollywood Bowl on his head, puppeteering a conductor ImageImageImageImage
Are these some of the most questionable decisions ever made for a Disney parade? 😅😅😅 20 years ago, wild ImageImageImageImage

Always consider the overworked and underpaid people at the end of the line who don’t have time to deal with your clever packaging idea. Image
(The ice cream is supposed to be displayed and stacked “upside down” but, when inevitably it isn’t, it’s extremely difficult to read the flavor or anything else on the package because it’s, uh, upside down)
Update: 37% success rate Image

@gruber The true Zoom experience begins with the installer. You have the standard list of steps on the left. The sheet comes down that says "This package will run a program to determine if the software can be installed." You click Continue. The installer quits. It's done. WTFFFFF
Indeed yes — as others have pointed out — the entire installer is jammed into the "preinstall" script that's supposed to just check things before the real install. It vaporizes at the end with a kill_installer 🙄. Also bonus .kext install for good measure Image
One thing that freaks me out about Zoom is that there are no Retina images on first launch, but later they just kind of… appear. I do wonder if they're not there in the first place because of this "Reitna" typo Image

On top of it all, a 100+ year old tree in front of our house is coming down today. Despite the lean, it was apparently healthy, but was buckling the sidewalk and a complaint was called in. I'm reminding myself that death is the one funny little quirk about life. We said goodbye. ImageImageImageImage
My favorite feature of this tree was that a flower would sprout from its trunk every year. ImageImage
(It did not this year.) Image
