When the Govt of India wanted them to lay down their arms In Nov 2004 the police denied permission to the CPI (Maoist) to hold meetings at Chimakurthi and Inkollu in Prakasam district to be addressed by senior leaders like Varavara Rao and Gaddar.
The CPI (Maoist) sympathisers had constructed pylons at Chimakurthi and Inkollu (made on grabbed Govt lands)in memory of martyrs and invited senior leaders to unveil them .
It was construed as a great let down by YSR. YSR had developed cold feet because there were accusations that he was sponsoring the Maoists. Rajya Sabha MP P.C. Alexander alleged that politicians were also
