How to be happy.

Partner with people of selfish integrity.

They live with integrity not for the sake of you, but for their own self-esteem.

Status = a man's reputation with society.

Integrity = a man's reputation with himself.
Avoid competing in status games; reputational or materialistic.

Status games = external battles you fight with society due to losing an internal war.

Reputation = society's competitive market.

Character = a man's monopoly.
Character can be observed tangibly as the value you offer when society prices you at 0.

Create a monopoly on your self-worth.
Find the work you would do for free.

Then figure out how to get payed.

Work = freedom commoditised at a rate equal to your self-worth.

Make your skillset so invaluable that you decide the price to exchange your freedom for labour.
Work = the exchange of time for money.

Wealth = the exchange of money for freedom.

Peace = the exchange of freedom for happiness.
Speak when you have value to add.

Listen to gain value to add.
Treat your body as if you will live for millennia.

Treat your mind as if today is your last.
Read books that raise your competency to a level your former self could not compete with.

Read until you build a philosophy.

Practise a philosophy until you build a character.
Never herd to society's views.

Herding is an insult to being alive and conscious.

A society is only as strong as the number of people actively filtering for the truth.
Life has no purpose.

If it did, we would all be a slave to it.

The universe is so efficient that if you truly 'want' something, it will not elude you.

This 'want' should maximise your long-term happiness.
Acknowledge that single, isolated actions are often insufficient.

Your library is the books you re-read.

Your mindset is the thoughts you recall.

Your life is the actions you repeat.
Never outsource your personal responsibilities or wars.

Spend your life evading trials and life will evade you.
Avoid society's proxies:

- Knowledge is not intelligence.

- Lust is not love.

- Money is not wealth.

- Status is not character.

Society delivers false prizes.

Learn to reward yourself.
Recall that happiness eludes the man who pursues the praise of others.

Society's praise = happiness for a day.

Self-praise = happiness for a lifetime.

The Art of Stoicism.

10 timeless maxims to forge your ascension.

~Thread~
1. “He who fears death will never do anything worthy of a man who is alive.”

- Seneca

I used to fear death. Now I fear stagnation.

The key to life is resolute acceptance of death.
2. “If it is not right, do not do it. If it is not true, do not say it.”

- Marcus Aurelius

It is a man’s moral imperative to do and say what is just.

Anything lesser signifies the traits of a barbarian.

The Aztecs were a horrific and chilling race; crafting their civilisation on human sacrifice.

Yet they serve as a distinguished relic of mankind's suffering.

[Thread] - 9 lessons on cultivating your ascension amidst the suffering.
1. Great men are not born great. Your actions earn your title.

You are owed nothing in life. When you do not live up to your potential, you do not live at all.

Man is as wise as his thoughts, but only as honourable as his actions.
2. A seed of focus will yield greater fruits than a forest of stagnation.

Distraction is for the masses, focus is for the few.

When you are everywhere, you are nowhere. Like the finest warrior, choose your moments and strike with supreme fury.
