Yes, journalists do have a duty to try & that's why it has been unconscionable of the @IrishTimes to ignore this issue in recent yrs. In 2018 I did a Channel 4 doc 'Trans Kids: it's time to talk' on the medical scandal that is unfolding today with the Judicial Review-10.30am- /2

- yet why no substantial report from the Irish Times? In Jan. 2019 @RTEprime_time did a piece with Donal O Shea, Paul Moran, Heather Brunskell Evans, James Caspian, Graham Linehan and myself were all interviewed for this Prime Time piece. /3

-With nothing substantive from the Irish Times- apart the usual 'everything is transphobic'. To date, there has been nothing substantial from the Irish Times about Donal O Shea calling the HSE trans panel 'a farce'. Nothing substantial about the Judicial Review today - /4

- even though the Tavistock hold regular monthly clinics in Ireland. Indeed the Irish Times recommended that teenage girls use binders - even though I explained to them in detail exactly why binders were dangerous. /5

There has been very little about the ongoing abuse and vexatious claims against Graham Linehan - even though I personally explained it to them, in detail, the background to this. /6

There has been no substantial reporting on the fact that 2 violent sex offenders are currently housed in the female prison - even though this approach has failed in the UK and this policy has been revoked as women have been raped and assaulted as a result of it /7

There have been no substantial reports on the ongoing scandal about @AmnestyIreland and @NWCI attempts to remove political representation from women. Nothing about the concerns of @Ire_LGBAlliance @WomensSpaceIre @TCDFFT @radicailin /8

While the Irish Times is very welcome to this debate, may I be so bold as to advise "If someone says it's raining & another person says it's dry. It's not your job to quote them both. Your job is to look out the fucking window and find out which is true." 9/9
