Public space is one of those areas where we are getting taught very hard lessons that I hope will spur us to liberatory action.
Many of us are learning to go without public spaces, which means learning what we miss most about them now.

I'm hoping what we learn we miss most is whatever measure of community we had, not the endless home to commute to work to commute to home churn that lines a whole lot of pockets but degrades our ability to linger and build relationship in broader ways in public space.
I wonder if we can find our way to undoing some of that "Bowling Alone" isolation and atomization after this mega-dose of isolation.
And I hope a lot that the militant protest spirit that has spread this year informs how we rebuild community in public space.
