From today, we repeat our old tweets on the founder of Kutch Jadeja state Rao Khengarji 1st in thread form on followers' demand. In 1534 Jadeja dynasty Rajput Rao Khengarji 1st founded Kutch Jadeja State which ended in 1948 AD.Jadeja Rajputs came to Kutch from Sindh in 1147 AD.
As per myth Sama Rajputs-Jadeja, Chudasama & Bhatti are of Yadav dynasty & descendant of Shri Krishna's son Samb. Sama were rulers of Egypt. Descendants of Yaduvanshi kings Gajpat, Narpat & Bhupat- Chudasama, Sama & Bhatti became rulers of Sorath, Nagarsama (Sindh) & Jaisalmer.
In 9th century Sorath king Versi Vala adopted his daughter's son Chandrachud Sama of Sindh & made him a successor. Chandrachud became Sorath king at Vanthali in Saurashtra. Descendants Chandrachud Sama are Chudasama Rajputs. He was first Rah king of Sorath state of Saurashtra.
After arrival of Arab power in Sindh, invasions of Delhi Sultan Alauddin Khilji & Gujarat sultan Mahmud Begada on Sindh in middle age; many Sama Rajputs of Sindh adopted Islam & became Muslims.Their Kutchi descendants are Sama/Sameja,Notiyar,Mandhara,Hingora,Rayama & Ker Muslims.
Jadeja Rajputs are of Sama dynasty of Yadu Vansh of Sindh.Descendants of Jam Jada Sama are known as Jadeja. In 1147 AD Jam Lakha Jadeja came from Sindh & founded kingdom in west Kutch.After settling in Kutch,Jadeja spread in Saurashtra at Halar-Jamnagar,Dhrol,Rajlot,Gondal,Morbi.
In 1147 AD Jam Lakha Jadeja founded kingdom in west Kutch with capital at Lakhiarvira. He ruled for 15 years up to 1162 AD. In 12th century central & eastern Kutch was under direct rule of Gujarat Solanki kings since 10th century when Mulraj Solanki defeated Lakha Fulani at Kera.
12th century western Kutch ruler Jam Lakha Jadeja had 7 daughters who burnt themselves in fire as they could not find suitable bridegroom. Practice of infanticide of girl child started among Jadeja rulers as 7 daughters of 12 century west Kutch ruler Jam Lakha committed suicide.
Central & eastern Kutch was under direct rule of Solanki & Vaghela dynasties Gujarat kings of Patan from 10 century to 1297 AD.6 stone inscriptions of Gujarat Solanki kings are found in Kuch. 1 of them of king Siddharaj Jaysinh of 1139 is at Chokhanda Mahadev temple in Bhadresar.
In stone inscription of 1139 of Siddharaj Jaysinh of Chokhanda Mahadev Bhadresar, 'Kutchmandal' & 'Bhadreshwar Velakul (port)' are mentioned.Bhadravati/Bhdreshwar Kutch was major port of Gujarat in ancient time Its sea trade was with Java,Sumatra,China,Shri Lanka,Arabia & Africa.
Oldest Muslim inscriptions of India are at Pir Lal Shobah's tomb at Bhadresar (Kutch). These Kufic Arabic inscriptions are of mid 12th century. Philanthropic rich Jain trader Jagadusha built Khimali Masjid at major port Bhadresar (Kutch) for Arab trader & settlers in 12th century
Western Kutch 1st Jadeja ruler Jam Lakha was succeeded by son Rata Raydhanji in 1162. He divided state into 5 parts & distributed to his 5 sons.12 & 13 century west Kutch Jadeja rulers at capital Lakhiarvira: Founder Jam Lakha 1147,Rata Raydhan 1175, Jam Otha 1215,Jam Ghaoji 1255
In 1192 after becoming a Sufi Fakir (ascetic), Hajipir went Punjab & then Sindh. He stayed in Sindh for 8 years & went to Kutch.He selected a place near Nara village & settled in rule of west Kutch Jadeja ruler Jam Ratta Raydhan.A village'Sondharana' developed near his monastery.
Jam Ghaoji Jadeja ruled at Lakhiarvira in west Kutch from 1255 to 1285. In his rule Jat people revolted but he suppressed them with cousin Abada. In 13th century Jam Raydhan Jadeja was ruler of Bara (Kutch).He was cousin of Jam Ghaoji ruler of Lakhiarvira but they were at enmity.
In late 13th century Jam Ghaoji of Lakhiarvira-Kutch attacked Jam-Raydhanji ruler of Bara Kutch who was killed in battle. Both were cousins. In 1285 Jam Ghaoji Jadeja ruler of west Kutch died.He had 2 queens Sonaba Sodha & Ramba Rathod & 6 sons of which Jam Vehanji became ruler.
In late 13th century Jam Abada Jadeja founded Abdasa state in Kutch with capital at Vinjan. Later Jam Abada shifted his capital to Vadsar.His grandson Krishnaraj migrated to Mysore in 1336.His descendants are Wadiyar dynasty Rajputs of Mysore in Karnataka.
In ancient time Abdasa & west Kutch was the prosperous area of Kutch. Its Lakhiyarvira, Vadsar, Vinjan, Tera, Bara, Kothara & Suthari were important towns of ancient Kutch. Brahmin, Bhatia, Lohana, Bukhari Saiyads from Sindh & Oswal Jains from Rajasthan settled in Abadasa.
In 1285 AD Jam Vehenji Jadeja became ruler at Lakhiyarvira in west Kutch. In his time Gujarat came under the rule of Delhi Sultan Alauddin Khilji. In 1321 AD Jam Vehenji Jadeja died after rule of 36 years. His son Mulvoji Jadeja became ruler of Lakhiyarvira in western Kutch.
In 1347 AD Kutch Lakhiarvira Jadeja branch ruler Jam Mulvoji died in battle with Kathis after a rule of 26 years. His son Kanyoji became west Kutch ruler at capital Habay. Jam Kanyoji ( reign1347-1414) ousted Kathi people from Kutch forever.
Kathi people left Kutch & settled in Saurashtra which is known as Kathiawad from their name. In 1414 AD west Kutch Jadeja ruler Jam Kanyoji died. His elder son Amarji who was the son of chief queen Rajba Jethwa became ruler at capital Habay.
Kutch Jadeja ruler Jam Amarji (1414-1429) defeated & killed Umi Vaghela ruler of Gedi in Vagad-Kutch to revenge his grandfather's murder. In 1429 Kabul Afghanistan Amir-ruler invaded Sindh & Kutch.He was defeated in Kuch by Kutch Jadeja ruler Jam Amarji who was seriously injured.
Habay East Kutch Jadeja ruler Jam Amarji defeated invading Kabul Afghan ruler.Jam Amarji was seriously injured in the battle & later he died due to wounds in 1429 AD.His child son Amarji 2nd became ruler instead of crown prince Bhimji in 1429.
In 1444 Habay-Kutch Jadeja ruler Amarji 2nd was dethroned by Bhayats- Chiefs as he was found ineligible to be a ruler. Bhayat-chiefs made Jam Bhimji ruler of Habay-Kutch.
Jam Lakha Jadeja son of Jam Harghol was ruler at Bara in West Kutch at time of Jam Bhimji of Habay-Kutch. Both Jadeja branches had old enmity. Habay ruler Bhimji Jadeja murdered Bara ruler Jam Lakha Jadeja in a conspiracy. This incident changed the history of Kutch & Saurashtra.
After the murder of Bara-Kutch Jadeja ruler Jam Lakha, his son Jam Raval became ruler of Bara in west Kutch. Later, he migrated to west Saurashtra in 1519 and founded Halar state. He founded Jamnagar/Navanagar as his capital city in 1540 AD.
In 1472 Habay (east Kutch) Jadeja ruler Jam Bhimji died.his son Jam Hamirji became west Kutch ruler. In 1472 AD Gujarat Sultan Mahmud Bagada decided to invade Sindh. His army marched to south Sindh via Kutch. Sultan army arrived in east Kutch & camped at Shapar now Rapar town.
In 1472 AD Kutch ruler Rao Hamirji made a truce with Sultan Mahmud & paid tribute through minister Bhudhar. Sultan wished to marry Rao's daughter. Kutch Jadeja ruler Rao Hamirji's daughter Kamabai was married to Gujarat Sultan Mahmud Begada & prince Aliyoji joined Sultan service.
In 15 century there was rivalry in 3 branches of Jadeja of Kutch.Enmity between Bara ruler Jam Raval & East Kutch ruler Hamirji was severe. In 1472 West Kutch ruler Jam Raval Jadeja murdered East Kutch ruler Jam Hamirji Jadeja by inviting Hamirji to his capital Bara in conspiracy
In 1472 AD after murder of Kutch ruler Hamirji his sons Khengarji & Sahebji went Ahmedabad to their brother Aliyoji & sister Kamabai who was queen of Sultan Mahmud Begada.Once Sultan impressed of his brother-in-law Kutch prince Khengarji's bravery in tiger hunting & honoured him.
In late 15th century Sultan Mahmud Begada awarded title of 'Rao' to Kutch Jadeja prince Khengarji with a royal dress & assured him help to win Kutch. Gujarat Sultan Mahmud Begada sent an army of 12000 soldiers under command of Malek & Saiyad with prince Khengarji Jadeja to Kutch.
In 15 century Gujarat Sultan Mahmud Begada handed over Morbi territory to Kutch exile Prince Khengarji with a clever & intelligent Vadnagara Nagar administrator Vamanrai Gopalji who was in service of Gujarat Sultnat.He was in profession of money lending so known as 'Vora Shri 7'.
15th century Vadnagara Nagar administrator Vamanrai Gopalji Vora Shri Sat who was sent by Sultan Mahmud Begada with prince Khengarji, later settled in Kutch when Khengarji founded Kutch Jadeja state. He removed 'Shri' from his surname as 'Shri' was used by Kutch Rao rulers.
In early 16 century Kutch exile prince Rao Khengarji Jadeja & his brothers Aliyoji & Sahebji with Gujarat Sultnat army of 12000 soldiers departed from Ahmedabad to take possession of Morbi territory which was given to him by his brother-in-law Gujarat Sultan Sultan Mahmud Begada.
On way to Morbi,prince Rao Khengarji was joined by Jadeja Jam Otha's descendant Hothi Nonghanji with a small army of 500 soldiers.When Rao Khengarji Jadeja reached Morbi,its Sultnat Thanedar Nayabkhan Gori refused to obey Sultan's order & did not hand over Morbi to Rao Khengarji.
Kutch exile prince Rao Khengarji & Gujarat Sultnat army defeated rebel Morbi Thanedar Nayabkhan Gori & killed him. As per Sultan Mahmud Begada's order Morbi & its territory was handed over to Rao Khengarji. He established his power in Morbi area & Jadeja Rajputs rule began here.
In begin of 16 century,Kutch prince Rao Khengarji got Morbi from Gujarat Sultnat.He used Morbi as a base for operations to revenge his father Hamirji's murder by Jam Raval & recover his father's possessions.He sent Hothi Nonghanji & brother Aliyoji to Vagad area of Kutch to recce
In early 16th century Hothi Nonghanji & prince Aliyoji Jadeja went Vagad Kutch capital Sapar. Its ruler Jam Abada was on side of Rao Khengarji's enemy Jam Raval.He was a cousin of Hothi Nonghanji. So he welcomed him but he did not like Jam Raval's enemy's brother prince Aliyoji.
Hothi Nonghanji had a habit of morning horse riding. One day morning when he was away for horse riding Vagad ruler Jam Abada killed his guest prince Aliyoji & threw his dead body on a bastion of fort.When Hothi returned he knew murder of prince Aliyoji.He vowed to kill Jam Abada.
In the early 16th century when Rao Khengarji received the news at Morbi of the murder of his brother Aliyoji by Vagad-Kutch ruler Jam Abada, he became very angry. He & his army marched to Vagad. They camped near Vagad-Kutch capital Sapar. Jam Raval was informed of his arrival.
Western Kutch ruler Jam Raval sent a message to Vagad ruler Jam Abada to kill Rao Khengarji who was in Vagad anyhow. This message was intercepted by Hothi Nonghanji. So he went in Durbar & killed his cousin Vagad ruler Jam Abada with one stroke of the spear.
In early 16th century after death of Vagad-Kutch ruler Jam Abada, Rao Khengarji Jadeja won Vagad capital Sapar. It was his first victory on the soil of Kutch.A coronation ceremony was held at Sapar & he was crowned as Vagad ruler. Name of Vagad capital Sapar was changed as Rapar.
In early 16th century Rao Khengarji Jadeja won east Kutch & made Rapar his capital. He planned to conquer remaining Kutch from his enemy Jam Raval Jadeja who murdered his father Hamirji. His brave man Maiya Barach looted Jam Raval's horses by killing horse keeper Laiya Khavas.
In 16 century Rao Khengarji's men looted Jam Raval's horses. It was insult of Jam Raval.Later Rao Khengarji founded village 'Gudthar' at the place of looting. Rao Khengarji continued to harass Jam Raval by raiding & looting his territory in Kutch. Jam Raval became unrest & angry.
16 century west Kuth ruler Jam Raval Jadeja was devotee of his family deity Ashapura Mata. One night he had a dream in which Ashapura Mata ordered him to leave Kutch forever by crossing sea & to found his own state on the soil of Halar area of west Saurashtra. He decided to do so
In 1519 Kutch Jadeja ruler Jam Raval went to sea coast near Mundra to leave Kutch forever. Rao Khengarji went behind him to fight but Jam Raval did not stop to fight.His brave soldier Ranmal Vijani did not like Jam Raval act. So he returned & fought with Khengarji bravely & died.
In 1519 west Kutch Jadeja ruler Jam Raval went with 700 of his family, friends & followers to Sat Sherada sea coast near Mundra to leave Kutch forever.Charan/Barot/Gadhvi (bard) of Kutch gathered there to farewell Jam Raval. He donated 60 villages of Kutch to them before leaving.
In 1519 Kutch ruler Jam Raval Jadeja left Kutch forever at Sat Sherada place on sea coast near Mundra as per order of his family deity Ashapura Mata. He crossed gulf of Kutch & arrived near Navlakhi of Saurashtra. He founded his state which became Navanagar/Jamnagar state later.
In 1519 Kutch ruler Jam Raval left Kutch forever. So Rao Khengarji established his power on whole territory of Kutch.He first occupied Anjar area & made it base to extend power in Kutch. In 1534 Rao Khengarji's 2nd coronation ceremony was held at his fathers capital Lakhiyarvira.
In 1534 AD Jadeja dynasty Rajput Rao Khengarji 1st founded Kutch Jadeja State which ended in 1948 AD. He established the rule of law and developed agriculture & trade. In his time Kutch state had 1404 villages. So it was known as 'Chodo Charo Kachchh'.
On Sunday, Magsar Vad 8 of V.S. 1602 (1546 AD) Kutch ruler Rao Khengarji 1st founded Anjar city. He lived the earlier life in Ahmedabad. So he desired to found a capital like Ahmedabad for his new Kutch state. He searched place for new capital & selected place near Bhujia hill.
Kutch ruler Rao Khengarji selected a place near Bhujia hill for his new capital.Hamir Rabari lived with his cattle there.He had small water tank named Hamirai.A Sufi Zinda Fakir also lived there.There were also another water tank Paburai & ancient temple of Bhujang on Bhujia hill
On Friday morning, Magsar Sud 5 of V.S. 1605 (1549 AD) Kutch ruler Rao Khengarji Jadeja laid foundation stone (Khili) of his new capital city Bhuj. The City was named Bhuj from the ancient temple of Bhujang (snake deity) on Bhujia hill.

On Maha Vad 11 of V.S. 1636 (1580 AD) Kutch Jadeja State 1st ruler Rao Khengarji founded Raipur/Rayanpur port town on the right bank of Rukmavati river on the sea coast of Gulf of Kutch. Later it became famous as Mandvi port which was a major port during 16th to 18th century. ImageImageImageImage
When Kutch ruler Khengarji founded Mandvi city in 1580,he invited Sindh big trader Bhatia Topan to Mandvi to develop trade & shipping of port. In 16 century Nagarsheth Bhatia Topan & his castes traders made Mandvi Kutch a major port of west India in middle age.He built Topan lake Image
Nagarsheth Bhatia Topan built grand Lakshminarayan temple at Mandvi Kutch in 1607 AD. It is adorned with fine sculpture & stone carving.Kutchi Bhatias whose surname is Toprani are descendants of 16th century Mandvi Kutch Nagarsheth Topan Bhatia.
In 16th century Kutch Jadeja ruler Khengarji founded Anjar, Bhuj & Mandvi cities in Kutch.He developed agriculture,trade,industry & commerce of Kutch. In his time farmers,traders,artisans,shippers & financiers migrated from Sindh, Saurashtra & Gujarat to Kutch & settled in Kutch.
In ancient time when Bhuj, Anjar, Mandvi & Mundra cities did not exist, Abdasa & west Kutch was prosperous. Its Lakhiyarvira, Vadsar, Vinjan, Tera, Bara, Kothara, Suthari were important towns of ancient Kutch.
Around 1350 AD some Bhatia families migrated to Kutch from Sindh. Here they settled in Tera,Vinjan & Kothara towns of Abdasa Taluka of Kutch. In 16th century Bhatias spread from Abdasa Taluka to newly founded Kutch cities Mandvi,Mundra & Anjar and Saurashtra. They became traders.
In 1534 Jadeja dynasty Rajput Rao Khengarji 1st founded Kutch Jadeja State.He founded Bhuj,Anjar & Mandvi cities.People from Sindh,Saurashtra & Gujarat came to Kutch & settled here.Kutchi people who speak Kutchi have root in Sindh & who speak Gujarati are of Saurashtra & Gujarat.
16th century Kutch Jadeja ruler Rao Khengarji 1st was gifted a stretch of land in Sindh from Rahim-Ki-Bazar to Kutch border by a Sindh prince Gazikhan for service of Khengarji to the prince. Sindh & Kutch had cultural, social & historical relations from the ancient time.
16 century Kutch Jadeja ruler Rao Khengarji awarded the title of 'Jam' & 12 villages to Bhinya Kakkal Miyana who sacrificed lives of his 6 sons to save prince Khengarji & his brother Sahebji when they were escaping from Kutch to Ahmedabad & were chased by Jam Rawal to kill them.
16 century Kutch Jadeja ruler Rao Khengarji gifted 3 villages to his faithful servant Chhachhar Buta who took prince Khengarji & his brother Sahebji from Kutch to Ahmedabad safely while Jam Rawal was chasing them to kill them.Chhachhar Buta sold himself 3 times as slave for money
16th century Kutch Jadeja ruler Rao Khengarji awarded title of Upadhyay & 12 villages to Ambaji devotee monk Gorji Manekmerji who predicted Khengarji as King & blessed him with a divine spear of Amba Mata.Khengarji built a monastery for him at Bhuj & gifted a lion shape headgear.
In 1513 Sindh Sama dynasty ruler Jam Nizamuddin 2nd died.His son Jam Feroz became Sindh ruler at Nagarthaththa (now Thatta).So his cousin Salauddin who was aspirant to be ruler disappointed & left Sindh.He went to his son-in-law Gujarat Sultan Muzaffar at Champaner & lived there.
16th century Sindh Sama dynasty ruler Jam Feroz became lecherous & negligent in state administration. So subject became unrest & Wazir Dariyakhan left him.Amirs invited his cousin Salauddin to come from Gujarat & to be Sindh ruler by dethroning Jam Feroz.Salauddin attacked Sindh.
In 16th century Salauddin Sama with help of his son-in-law Gujarat Sultan Muzffar's army defeated his cousin Sindh ruler Jam Feroz & became Sindh ruler. Dethroned Feroz with his loyal Dariyakhan recaptured Sindh capital Nagarthaththa from Salauddin & became Sindh ruler again.
In 1520 Afghan Shah Beg of Arghun-Tarkhun dynasty attacked Sindh & defeated Sindh Sama dynasty last ruler Jam Feroz who surrendered. So Shah Beg gave him Nagarthaththa & some land as Jagir for his maintenance. Shah Beg Tarkhun became Sindh ruler. Sama dynasty rule ended in Sindh.
16 century Sindh dethroned ruler Salauddin Sama attacked Sindh to recapture Nagarthaththa from his cousin Jagirdar Jam Feroz with help of Kutch Jadeja ruler Rao Khengarji army under Amar Amrani & Tharparkar Sodha army. Sindh ruler Shah Beg sent army under Mirza Isa to help Feroz.
In 16th century Sindh ruler Shah Beg Tarkhun defeated invading Salauddin Sama. In this battle Salauddin,his son Hebatkhan & Kutch army chief Jadeja Amarji Amrani were killed.Shah Beg took back land from ex-ruler Jam Feroz except Nagarthaththa.Shah Beg became ruler of whole Sindh.
In 1522 AD Sindh Mughal ruler Shah Beg marched towards Gujarat to attack Gujarat Sulatan Muzffarshah. His army reached Radhanpur & camped there. Shah Beg became sick & died at Radhanpur. After his death, his crown prince Mirza Shah Hasan became Sindh ruler.
In 1522 AD Nagarthaththa/Thatta ruler & ex-Sindh ruler Jam Feroz Sama went in coronation ceremony of new Sindh ruler Shah Hasan & paid tribute with valuable gifts. Later he planned to attack Shah Hasan who came to know Feroz' plan & attacked Jam Feroz before he attack Shah Hasan.
In 1522 AD Sindh ruler Mughal Shah Hasan attacked Nagarthaththa/Thatta. Its ruler & ex-Sindh ruler Jam Feroz fled to Kutch & took shelter of Kutch Jadeja ruler Rao Khengarji. Kutch state advisers warned Rao Khengarji not to give asylum to Sindh Nagarthaththa ruler Jam Feroz Sama.
Around 1523 army of Kutch Jadeja ruler Rao Khengarji attacked Nagarthaththa/Thatta in Sindh on behalf of Kutch refugee & ex-ruler of Nagarthaththa Jam Feroz.Thatta was defended by Sindh ruler Shah Hasan. In a fierce battle Shah Hasan defeated Kutch army.20000 soldiers were killed
16th century Kutch Jadeja ruler Rao Khengarji became desperate on the defeat of his army in Sindh. He wrote a letter to Sindh Mughal ruler Mirza Shah Hasan warning him of dire consequences. Shah Hasan replied in insulting & rude words. So Rao Khengarji decided to invade Sindh.
16th century Kutch Jadeja ruler Rao Khengarji prepared an army of 10000 soldiers to attack Sindh & he marched. Sindh ruler Mirza Shah Hasan sent his assistant Sultan Muhammadkhan to fight with Kutch army. Both armies met at Vang in Lakhpat area of Kutch. Kutch army was defeated.
In 1540 AD Mughal emperor Humayun was defeated by Sher Shah Suri who won Delhi from Mughals. Humayun with his family fled to Sindh. Sindh ruler Mirza Shah Hasan helped Humayun who lived in Umarkot where his son Akbar born in 1542 AD. Humayun left Sindh & went Kandahar in 1543 AD.
In 1554 AD Sindh Amirs (nobles) decided to make Mirza Muhammad Tarkhan from the senior branch of Arghun dynasty Sindh ruler as ruler Shah Hasan/Husayn was childless & incapable to rule due to old age & ill health. Mirza Muhammad Shah Hasan/Husayn died in 1556 AD.
In mid 16th century, Sindh was divided between Mirza Muhammad Isa Tarkhan & Mahmud Kokaltash/Koka. Upper Sindh was ruled by Mahmud Koka from capital Bakhar & lower Sindh was ruled by Mirza Muhammad Isa Tarkhan from capital Nagarthaththa (now Thatta).
16th century Sindh ruler Mirza Muhammad Isa Tarkhan had 4 sons Muhammad Sale,Muhammad Baqi,Kamran & Janbaba.They quarrelled for their share in state in life of father. Sale with Imaran took state from his father forcefully.Janbaba went Sameja people & Muhammad Baqi fled to Kutch.
In the 16th century Sindh Arghun dynasty prince Muhammad Baqi fled to Kutch due to dispute with his father Sindh ruler Mirza Isa Tarkhan & brother prince Muhammad Sale. Kutch Jadeja ruler Rao Khengarji gave asylum to Sindh prince Muhammad Baqi.
In the 16th century Sindh refugee prince Muhammad Baqi was married with the daughter of Kutch prince Sahebji Jadeja. She was a daughter of Sahebji's Sindhal concubine. A son was born to Sindh prince Muhammad Baqi in Kutch who was named Mirza Muzaffar.
16 century Sindh refugee prince Muhammad Baqi requested to Kutch Jadeja ruler Rao Khengarji to help him to get his share in Sindh state from his father Mirza Isa Tarkhan & brother Muhammad Sale.Rao Khengarji entrusted this task to his brother Sahebji & asked him to attack Sindh.
In 16 century Sindh ruler Mirza Isa Tarkhan & his son Prince Muhammad Sale were angry with Kutch Jadeja ruler Rao Khengarji as he gave shelter to Sindh rebel prince Muhammad Baqi. So father & son decided to attack Kutch to punish its ruler Rao Khengarji Jadeja & Sindh prince Baqi
In 16th century Sindh army under command of ruler Mirza Isa Tarkhan & his prince Muhammad Sale marched to Kutch. Kutch ruler Rao Khengarji sent army under his brother Sahebji & brave chiefs Mokalshi & Ravoji to fight with Sindh army. It reached at Jhara Dungar (hill) in border.
In 16th century Kutch army reached Jhara hill & camped there. Sindh army crossed the desert & arrived at desert border.From the top of Jhara hill, Sahebji saw arrival of Sindh army. So he planned a surprised & secret attack on Sindh army during night. They waited till nightfall.
In Jhara 1st battle 3 brave Kutchi warriors Prince Sahebji, Mokalshi & Ravoji entered into Sindh army secretly in night & injured Sindh ruler Mirza Isa & his son Muhammad Sale with spear & swords.This was surprised blow to Sindh army. Next day Sindh ruler made truce with Sahebji.
Injured Sindh ruler Mirza Isa Tarkhan made a truce with Sahebji & agreed to give his son Prince Muhammad Baqi who was in Kutch, his due share in Sindh state. He divided Sindh between his 2 sons. Thatta & surrounding area gave to Muhammed Sale & Nasarpur area to Muhammad Baqi.
In 16th century refugee Sindh prince Muhammad Baqi got his lawful share in Sindh state from his father Sindh ruler Mirza Isa Tarkhan by efforts of Kutch Jadeja ruler Rao Khengarji & his brave brother Sahebji. A coronation ceremony Of Muhammad Baqi was held at Nasarpur in Sindh.
In coronation ceremony at Nasarpur Sindh,it new ruler Muhammad Baqi gifted a stretch of land from Rahim-Ki-Bazar to Kutch border to Kutch state for its help.A document of this gift was given to Kutch prince Sahebji Jadeja. Later Mughal emperor invaded Sindh & won Sindh from Baqi.
16th century Thatta Sindh ruler Mirza Muhammad Sale had enmity with his brother Nasarpur ruler Mirza Muhammad Baqi as he had to give half Sindh state to Muhammad Baqi. So Muhammad Sale planned to murder Nasarpur Sindh ruler Mirza Muhammad Baqi.
In 16th century Thatta Sindh ruler Mirza Sale sent his barber to Nasarpur in service of its ruler Mirza Muhammad Baqi. Once Baqi's barber was on leave, Thatta barber performed his duty. He cut throat of Nasarpur ruler Muhammad Baqi with razor while cutting his hair & killed him.
In 16th century Nasarpur Sindh ruler Mirza Muhammad Baqi was murdered by Thatta barber sent by Thatta ruler Muhammad Sale. His pregnant widow queen did not declare her ruler husband death & fled to Kutch with her husband's dead body. Kutch Jadeja ruler Rao Khengarji sheltered her
In 16th century Kutch Jadeja ruler Rao Khengarji gave shelter to the widow of murdered Nasarpur Sindh ruler Muhammad Baqi. Chhari village was given to Sindh ruler's widow by Kutch state for her maintenance. Dead body of her husband Muhammad Baqi was buried in Karol Pir in Kutch.
16 century Nasarpur Sindh ruler's refugee pregnant widow queen gave birth to a son in Kutch.He was named Gazikhan who was brought up by Kutch state & was married to a girl of Mokalshi Rajput.Later Gazikhan committed suicide & was buried near grave of his father in Karol Pir Kutch
Jam Raval Jadeja who founded Jamnagar state had enmity with Kutch Jadeja ruler Rao Khengarji.He sent 12 wrestlers to Kutch to murder Rao Khengarji. One morning they tried to kill Khengarji when he was on morning horse ride.Khengarji was a swordsman,he killed them all with 1 sword
16 century Halvad Zala ruler Ramsinhji went pilgrimage Dwarka.His son-in-law Jasaji Jadeja was Dhrol ruler.On way Ramsangji stayed at Dhrol.While playing Chopat,father-in-law & son-in-law quarrelled on matter of pride on playing Nagara (drums).Ramsinhji told he would play Nagara.
In 16th century Halvad Zala ruler Ramsinhji came with army to Dhrol & played Nagara (drums).So Dhrol Jadeja ruler Jasaji attacked Halvad army .In fierce battle Jasaji was injured & died.Before dying,he asked a Charan to convey message to Kutch brave Sahebji Jadeja to take revenge
In 16th century Kutch Jadeja ruler Rao Khengarji received message of late Dhrol ruler Jasaji.He sent his brother Sahebji with army to attack Halvad & to punish its Zala ruler Ramsinhji.Kutch & Halvad armies met near Maliya-Miyana & a fierce battle was fought in which Sahebji died
In 16 century Kutch ruler Rao Khengarji Jadeja's brother Sahebji died in battle with Halvad army at Maliya-Miyana. So his other brother Rayabji took charge of Kutch army operations. He killed rebel Hardhorji in an encounter. He won Bhadreshwar from Hala Rajput of Jamnagar State.
16 century Vinzan-Kutch ruler was Ajaji Jadeja.He was uncle of Jamnagar State founder Jam Raval Jadeja.Ajaji built lake Ajasar at Vinzan.He had army of Hingora & Sumara Muslims.He was forced to vacate Vinzan by Rao Khengarji's nephew Jasaji. So Ajaji left Vinzan & went to Mandvi.
In 16 century Vinzan Kutch ruler Ajaji Jadeja was forced to leave Vinzan. So he went to Mandvi area & won Salaya (Mandvi),Maska & Gundiyali.He made Gundiyali his capital.Ajaji died there.He had 2 sons-Raidharji & Maheramanji.Raidharji remained in Gundiyali & Hala Maheramanji left
In 16th century Hala Maheramanji Jadeja left Gundilyali Kutch & won Bhadreshwar & Luni area. He established his power in Bhadreshwar. Hala Maheramanji Jadeja is famous for his bravery in the history of Kutch & Jamnagar State. Charan people (bards) wrote literature on his bravery.
16 century Kutch Jadeja ruler Rao Khengarji was eager to revenge death of his brother Sahebji who was killed by Halvad Zala ruler Ramsinhji.Khengarji sent army under Hala Maheramanji to attack Halvad. In a fierce battle,Maheramanji killed Halvad ruler Ramsinhji with a spear & won
16 century Hala Maheramanji Jadeja of Bhadreshwar (Kutch) had 14 sons.He took part in famous historical battle of Bhuchar Mori in Saurashtra with Jamnagar State army against mighty Mughal army.He & his 14 sons showing act of valour & bravery, sacrificed their lives in this battle

16 century Kutch Jadeja state of Rao Khengarji was subsidiary state of Gujarat Sultnat. In 1572 AD Gujarat Sultnat rule was ended.Mughal emperor Akbar won Gujarat & made it part of Mughal empire.Kutch became subsidiary of Mughal. It had to pay tribute of 5000 soldiers to Mughal.
In late 16th century Afghanistan Mughal Amir Hussain Mirza attacked Kutch via Sindh. Kutch Jadeja ruler Rao Khengarji was in old age but he himself led Kutch army to Kutch border to defend. Afghan & Kutch armies met at Jhara Dungar (hill) in Lakhpat are.2nd battle of Jhara began.
In late 16 century Kutch army under ruler Rao Khengarji Jadeja fought very bravely with invading Afghan army of Hussain Mirza whose 12 Khan chiefs were killed by Kutch army in 2nd battle of Jhara.Kutch army defeated Afghan army. Victorious Rao Khengarji returned his capital Bhuj.
In late 16 century one of Kutch army chiefs Hakkaji Jadeja who was uncle of Jamnagar state founder Jam Raval fought very bravely & showed courage & valour against Afghan army in 2nd battle of Jhara hill.He became martyr.His heirs were awarded Hatdi village Jagir near Bhadreshwar.
In late 16th century Jakhara Minyana of village Dagala Kutch fought very bravely against invading Afghan army in 2nd battle of Jhara hill. Kutch Jadeja ruler Rao Khengarji awarded him title of 'Jam' with a turban. He was made 'Patel' of Miyana community of Kutch by Kutch state.
In 16th century Jadeja Raidharji Amar became a rebel against Kutch ruler Rao Khengarji.He became outlaw & began to loot & harass Kutch people. So Rao Khengarji sent crown Prince Bhojrajji to punish him.Raidharji killed Kutch crown prince Bhojrajji in an encounter near Bhuj & fled
In 16th century Kutch Jadeja ruler Rao Khengarji defeated invading Afghan Mughal Chief Hussain Mirza at Jhara hill. So Mughal Emperor Akbar displeased but he could not punish Rao Khengarji as Kutch was his subsidiary state. At that time Jethwa Rajputs of Ghumli became rebel.
In 16th century Mughal emperor Akbar ordered Kutch Jadeja ruler Rao Khengarji to attack Ghumli in Saurashtra to punish Jethwa Rajputs who became rebel to Mughal power. Rao Khengarji attacked strong fort of Ghumli & besieged it. Jethwa Rajput stored sufficient provision in fort.
In 16th century siege of Ghumli fort by Kutch army continued for a long time as it was not easy to conquer fort. Kutch outlaw Raidhar Jadeja who killed Kutch crown prince Bhojraji was hiding in Barada forest near Ghumli at that time. He decided to help Kutch ruler Rao Khengarji.
At night Kutch fugitive outlaw Jadeja Raidhar Amar who was hiding in Barada mountain near Ghumli attacked Ghumli with his brave soldiers. They broke hinges of fort gate doors by strength & trick. They entered in Ghumli & defeated Jethwa by shouting slogans in name of Kutch ruler.
Next morning Kutch fugitive outlaw Jadeja Raidharji Amar went to Kutch ruler Rao Khengarji camp & informed his victory of Ghumli fort & gave it possession to Rao Khengarji.Unfortunately, Raidharji died in an accident in camp.His heirs were given villages in Kutch by Rao Khengarji
On Jyeshtha Sud 3 of 1642 V.S. (1586 AD) founder of Kutch Jadeja state, Rao Khengarji 1st died at age of 90 years after the rule of 76 years. He was a brave, wise & intelligent ruler who founded & developed a state of 1404 villages which was existed for 438 years up to 1948 AD.

In 1242 Gujarat's 12th & last Solanki king Tribhuvanpal became Gujarat king after the death of his father Bhimdev 2nd. He ruled for 2 years & died in 1244. With his death, Gujarat's Solanki dynasty rule ended. Solanki kings ruled Gujarat for 302 years. Vaghela dynasty rule began.

After Solanki, Vaghela Rajputs ruled Gujarat. In 13th century Vaghela Rajput branch of Solanki was known as Vyaghrapalliy from their town Vyaghrapalli. From 15th century they are known as Vaghela. In 13 century 5 Vaghela Rajput kings ruled Gujarat for 60 years from 1244 to 1304.
In 1244 Visaldev became Gujarat's 1st Vaghela dynasty king. He was son of Virdhaval & grandson of Lavanprasad Vaghela who were Dholaka rulers. Gujarat king Visaldev Vaghela's chief minister was Tejpal who was brother of Vastupal.He died in 1248 & Nagad Nagar became chief minister

In the 15th century, Gujarat Sultnat army under Alapkhan defeated Sanjan Rana ruler & killed Parsi leader Ardeshar in battle. They won & looted Sanjan. Parsi took holy fire Atash Behram Iran Shah to Bahrot. They placed Atash Behram in a cave for safety.
In late 15th century, Parsi shifted holy fire Atash Behram from Bahrot to Vansda then to Navsari & Valsad. Last it was shifted to Udvada. In early 15th century, Navsari Parsi chief Asha Rana had much influence in court of Gujarat Sultan Ahmedshah. His son Changa Asha was famous.

In 1569 AD Jam Satarsal/Sataji became 3rd Jadeja dynasty ruler of Navanagar/Jamnagar state. His younger brother princes were given Jagir (estates) - Bhanji was given Kharedi with 12 villages, Ranmalji was given Sisang & Chandali with 12 villages and Veraji was given Hadiyana. Image
In 1569 AD Gujarat's last Sultan Muzffarshah 3rd granted permission to Jamnagar ruler Jam Sataji to issue coins. The currency of Kori coins was issued by the Jamnagar state. Sorath-Junagadh was under the control of Gujarat Sultnat Amir (noble) Aminkhan Ghori.
In the rule of Jamnagar ruler Jam Sataji, Gujarat was won by Mughal Emperor Akbar from Gujarat's last Sultan Muzffarshah 3rd in 1572. Junagadh administrator Aminkhan Ghori had a quarrel with his army chief Fatehkhan who left Junagadh & went to Ahmedabad.He complained Mughal Suba.

In 1459 AD prince Fatehkhan became Gujarat 7th Sultan acquiring the title of 'Abulfatah Mahmoodshah' at age of 13 years. He became famous in the history of Gujarat as Mahmood Begada.
15th century Gujarat Sultan Mahmud Begada became Sultan at age of 13 years.His powerful Amirs (lords) troubled him due to his minor age in beginning. Gujarat Sultan Mahmood Begada's Wazir Imad-ul-Mulk was very powerful & faithful to Sultan. So Amirs made a conspiracy against him.
Gujarat Sultnat Amirs became powerful due to chaos in previous weak Sultans rule.They arrested Wazir Imad-ul-Mulk & kept him in Bhadra fort. Main rebel Amirs of 15th century Gujarat Sultan Mahmud Begada were Kabruddin Urf,Amad-ul-Mulk,Maulvi Khizar,Burhan-ul-Mulk,Khwaja Muhammed.
