Gujarat Rajputs' surnames in Sanskrit/Prakrit in ancient times: Chauhan-Chahman, Rathod-Rashtrakut, Chavada-Chapotkat, Solanki-Chaulukya, Padhiyar-Pratihar, Vaghela-Vyaghrapalliy, Jethava-Jyeshthuk, Gohil-Guhil. As per myth, Rashtrakut-Rathod Rajput are Chandra Vanshi Yadav family. Historically they were of Ratta race. Ratta->Rattakut->Rashtrakut->Rathod. In 753 AD Rashtrakut-Rathod came into Gujarat.Their king Dantidurgraj defeated Navsari Chaulukya king & founded south Gujarat kingdom.

In 1242 Gujarat's 12th & last Solanki king Tribhuvanpal became Gujarat king after the death of his father Bhimdev 2nd. He ruled for 2 years & died in 1244. With his death, Gujarat's Solanki dynasty rule ended. Solanki kings ruled Gujarat for 302 years. Vaghela dynasty rule began.



After Solanki, Vaghela Rajputs ruled Gujarat. In 13th century Vaghela Rajput branch of Solanki was known as Vyaghrapalliy from their town Vyaghrapalli. From 15th century they are known as Vaghela. In 13 century 5 Vaghela Rajput kings ruled Gujarat for 60 years from 1244 to 1304.

Navroz / Nowruz / Pateti / Farvardin is celebrated today by Parsi as they believe that every new year, there is a recreation of the universe.1106 years ago in 917 AD Parsi migrated to Diu Gujarat from Iran because of Arab invasions. They lived in Diu for 19 years then went Sanjan In the 15th century, Gujarat Sultnat army under Alapkhan defeated Sanjan Rana ruler & killed Parsi leader Ardeshar in battle. They won & looted Sanjan. Parsi took holy fire Atash Behram Iran Shah to Bahrot. They placed Atash Behram in a cave for safety.

In 1569 AD Jam Satarsal/Sataji became 3rd Jadeja dynasty ruler of Navanagar/Jamnagar state. His younger brother princes were given Jagir (estates) - Bhanji was given Kharedi with 12 villages, Ranmalji was given Sisang & Chandali with 12 villages and Veraji was given Hadiyana. In 1569 AD Gujarat's last Sultan Muzffarshah 3rd granted permission to Jamnagar ruler Jam Sataji to issue coins. The currency of Kori coins was issued by the Jamnagar state. Sorath-Junagadh was under the control of Gujarat Sultnat Amir (noble) Aminkhan Ghori.

2200 years ago in 200 BC ports of Arabia & Sri Lanka were under complete control of Gujarati people.Gujarat's foreign trade is very ancient.Relation of Gujarat & Arabia is more than 3000 years old.There were Arab traders' settlements on the sea coast of Gujarat in ancient time. There are many common words in Arabic & Sanskrit. It is difficult to ascertain from which language these words are originated.Some common Arabic & Sanskrit words: Shita-Shit-cold; Aram-Aram-rest; Bin-Van-forest; Sarir-Sharir-body; Shak-Shanka-doubt; Badan-Vadan-face.

Jara/Zara/Jhara Dungar (hill) is situated in the west north at border of Sindh in Kutch. At the foot of a hill of Jara Dungar, Jadeja Rajputs of Kutch state fought 3 historic battles with Muslim invaders from Sindh. On followers demand, we repeat our old tweets on Zara battles. In the 16th century, Sindh Arghun dynasty prince Muhammad Baqi fled to Kutch due to a dispute with his father Sindh ruler Mirza Isa Tarkhan & brother prince Muhammad Sale. Kutch Jadeja ruler Rao Khengarji gave asylum to Sindh prince Muhammad Baqi.

In 1459 AD prince Fatehkhan became Gujarat 7th Sultan acquiring the title of 'Abulfatah Mahmoodshah' at age of 13 years. He became famous in the history of Gujarat as Mahmood Begada. 15th century Gujarat Sultan Mahmud Begada became Sultan at age of 13 years.His powerful Amirs (lords) troubled him due to his minor age in beginning. Gujarat Sultan Mahmood Begada's Wazir Imad-ul-Mulk was very powerful & faithful to Sultan. So Amirs made a conspiracy against him.

Children's day is celebrated on his birthday 14 November every year as a tribute to him. Nehru was a prolific writer in English and produced several books, such as The Discovery of India, Glimpses of World History, & his autobiography, Toward Freedom. He wrote 30 letters to his daughter Indira Gandhi , teaching her about natural history & the story of civilisations.

Junagadh state last Babi Nawab fled Pakistan in 1947. Girinagar/Jirnadurg/Junagadh is very ancient city which is mentioned in Puranas. James Prinsep (1799 – 1840) was an English scholar, orientalist and antiquary. He was pioneer of Swadeshi modern shipping in India. Narottam Morarjee & Walchand Hirachand with other 2 Gujarati founded India's first Swadeshi maritime co. Scindia Steam Navigation Co. Ltd. In 1919 AD.Morarjiee was a Bhatia family of Saurashtra settled in Mumbai.Smt.Sumati Morarjee was his daughter-in-law.

31-3-2019 was last day of Dena Bank which was Gujarat's lead bank with Gujarati business traditions & heritage. It was founded by Gujarati businessmen in response to Gandhiji's Swadeshi movement in 1938. On 1-4-2019 It was merged with Bank of Baroda after 81 years of existence. Dena Bank was founded as Devkaran Nanjee Banking Company Ltd. in 1938 at Mumbai by Devkaran Nanjee group (est.1879). It was founded by Chunilal Devkaran Nanjee & Pranlal Devkaran Nanjee to fulfil their father late Devkaran Nanjee Desai's dream of Swadeshi bank.Old photo of it HO.

10th century Gujarat king Mulraj Solanki acquired titles of Parambhattarak, Parameshwar, Maharajadhiraj. His wife Madhavi was Chahman-Chauhan.Gujarat Solanki dynasty kings were followers of Shaivism. In 10 century king Mulraj Solanki built grand Shiv temple Rudramal at Siddhapur. Mulraj Solanki founded Solanki dynasty kingdom of Gujarat. He wanted to develop his new kingdom in education, religion & spiritual. In his time Brahmins population was not sufficient in Gujarat. So he invited Brahmins of north India on occasion of opening of Rudramal Shiv temple.

Lohana of Gujarat are Kshatrya originally.They are Surya Vanshi Rajput of Raghu dynasty.Lord Ram is their ancestor,they are known as Raghuvanshi. In ancient time Lohana lived in Lohanpur city near Multan in Punjab now in Pakistan or in Lohkot/Lohur/Lohavar town in Kashmir. In an old Gujarati commentary book of 1337 AD on 'Ganitsar' book written by Shridharacharya, tables of weights & measurements are given. In 13 century daily earning/wage of common man was 5 Vinshopaks or monthly income was 1.5 Dram. Somnath temple priest salary was 15 Dram p.m. 13th century grain weight table:4 Paval=1 Pali;4 Pali=1 Manak;4 Manak=1 Seti;6 Seti=1 Hari;4 Hari=1 Mani;16 Seti=1 Kalashi;10 Kalashi=I Sudo. In 1295 AD Italian traveller Marco Polo wrote about Gujarat in his travelogue. He passed Gujarat coast in his voyage from China to Persia. Marco Polo wrote,"Gujarati are spread all over world. They are kind,very honest & truth speaking trader.They never lie for anything of world" 13th century Italian traveller Marco Polo wrote,"Gujarati traders are trustworthy & faithful to even foreign traveller.They never cheat foreigner & deal with him honestly.They are very good as an agent to sell foreign traders' goods.They charge reasonable commission/fee in deal".
